Chris was a great bar tender. I had the chicken sandwich on a GF bun and had no issues. Also got the potato gratin and Bostonian baked beans as sides and it was delicious. Hubby enjoyed the crab dip with salt and pepper chips. Chris made sure to confirm with chef for allergies. Great place to go. Nice atmosphere.
They definitely claimed to be gluten free and dairy allergy friendly but my friend got so sick from eating here and there was hair in 2 of our dishes. The waitress said she “googled” if a drink recipe was allergy friendly- it wasn’t once we actually looked up the ingredients after her throat was itchy.
They have a Dedicated gluten free menu. All wait staff is knowledgeable about CC. Dedicated fryers for French fries. We verified gluten free using Nima device. Food was crazy good. Burgers, ribs , chicken. Thank you Bostonia Public House for being so inclusive
The food was delicious and safe. They seemed well-informed about CC, etc. I had a salad, and it came on a differently shaped and designed plate than the plate my mother’s regular salad came on. They also carried my food out separately, which always puts my mind at ease.
Went for dinner - excellent experience. Separate gluten free menu with many options. Kids menu was also clearly marked with gluten free options. Our server was knowledgeable about cross contamination. Separate fryers- I NIMA tested multiple items and all came back gluten free. Food was excellent. Will definitely be back .
I’ve been here a number of times before and usually have had a positive experience. I returned last night and told the waiter I had celiac disease before I ordered some French fries. He came back to tell me that they had gotten busy so started using their dedicated fryer to fry foods containing gluten, but the chef said it should still probably be okay. I told him it was not okay as cross contamination is a huge issue and canceled my order. I’m disappointed that they compromised a safe gluten free environment for the sake of time.
This place was great! The food was top quality with many gluten free options. The hot lobster roll was amazing! There was live music as well which was very enjoyable. Service was friendly and fast. Will definitely be back the next time we are in Boston!
HOLY SMOKES THIS PLACE WAS FANTASTIC! It was the first restaurant we tried in Boston and it was so good we went back for lunch the next day! The warm lobster roll was delicious- the bread was incredibly soft and the lobster was so fresh. The french fries were phenomenal and I fell in love with the house pickles. But what really made this experience next-level is that as I ordered off the gluten-free menu the waitress asked "is that preference or an allergy?" They did this each of the times we were there, and as a Celiac it completely put my mind at ease. A fantastic experience all the way around.
GF buns available for lobster roll and said fries were fried in separate fryer. I really enjoyed it and the service at the bar was great. Drinks: had Redbridge bottles available when I went. Also had a few ciders available in addition to wine and liquor.
We went for dinner on a Friday night. If you want a loud happening place go here. We were hoping for something a bit quieter. They lost out reservation but found us a table in about 10 mins. I had the polenta fries which were great and a steak with gratin potatoes and mushrooms. The steak was huge, potatoes good but the mushrooms had absolutely no flavor. Drinks were really overpriced in my opinion. Overall ok but not with what we paid.
My husband surprised me with lunch in this restaurant a couple of weeks ago to celebrate my promotion at work and it was one of the best gluten free meals I have had since being diagnosed with celiac since 2007! First of, they have a gluten free menu and not just their regular menu minus the meals with pasta/bread. It's actually quite opposite. It also includes the burgers/sandwiches with gluten free buns. I had the Chilled lobster roll and it was to die for. My husband had the Creamy carnaroli risotto which I also tried and we both thought it was cooked wonderful. Very happy to have found this place.
We visited on a Sunday of a holiday weekend. Our server was very knowledgeable about Celiac disease & cross contamination & warned us that when it gets busy the kitchen will use the "dedicated" fryer for everything so he didn't feel comfortable saying the fries, wings or anything fried on the gluten free menu was truly safe. We did have delicious salmon, cod & daughter enjoyed her cheeseburger. There were no GF desserts & our server informed us he had checked with the chef & none of the sorbets or ice creams were gluten free for celiac. I first have 4 stars instead of 5 because of my disappointment about the fryer & dessert situation but changed to 5 star because everything was fresh, flavorful & it is truly valuable to have a server who takes Celiac & gluten free concerns seriously so you can eat without any worries.
This was the best burger I've had in a long time. I kept looking at the gluten free bun wondering if it really was gluten free because it held up and tasted good - which is a rare find. The price was a tad excessive for a burger, but the food was good, and I didn't get sick. I will visit again in the future if I am in the area. Bonus, the fryer is a dedicated fryer so I was able to eat the french fries!
Ug! What a bust. I selected this restaurant for it's gluten free menu and range of regular food options. The service was slow, despite what I would consider to be an average Saturday night crowd. The burger was ok (though yes gluten free), they were out of the ribeye steak, and my daughter's food had a hair in it. These things happen, I understand that - but when we notified the server, she simply whisked the food away and brought a check without that plate on the invoice. As we paid, she said "sorry about that" and then the matter was done. Overall - the ambience was nice, but tried too hard to be a cross between a foodie hang out and a sports bar. Not recommended.
