Bottega Monteleone

Wonderful wine bar with great outdoor seating and super friendly staff who went out of their way to understand our gluten- free needs (despite clearly not often serving gf customers). They understood celiacs and that they would need to prepare our tagliere appetizer plate in a safe area. We ate a delicious salumi & formaggi plate with our wines, and a truly delicious Sicilian salad of orange, fennel and anchovies, all without getting sick. There was a mishap where a kindly chef brought out complimentary parmigiana with honey on little bruschetta toasts before he remembered we were gluten free, but again they went out of their way to offer us safe food despite it not being their usual thing. Did I mention the incredible wines and generous pours? Best night in Palermo.
