I enjoyed my dinner at the Bourbon House restaurant in New Orleans immensely. They did not have a gluten free menu, but when I asked about it, the server was very knowledgeable and guided me to the best options that the chef could alter. I had a crab claw appetizer with a fantastic gluten free sauce that was unbelievable. The redfish entree was perfectly prepared and the best gluten free entree and sides that I have ever had in a restaurant. The creme brulee was better than I have had in France. The manager came by to check on my gluten free choices to see if they were well received Yes!). This is a restaurant where the staff took great care of me, and they were friendly and made sure I received a spectacular gluten free dinner. It was a delight.

GF items are marked on the menu. But ask your server; my waitress pointed out that many other dishes can be made GF. I had charbroiled oysters, redfish on the half shell and Bourbon milk punch. The only thing that wasn’t amazing was the potatoes that came with the fish. They were far too peppery.

There was no separate menu and the waiter wasn’t very knowledgeable, but he was very friendly and made sure with the kitchen. I got the shrimp but had it grilled.

The Carrossel bar at Monteleone has a delicious shrimp and oyster Rockefeller GF. Wonderful place for a snack. Very elegant atmosphere. I eat and had no symptoms.
We stopped for an afternoon snack. Loved the quiet, light, cool and lovely space! We tried the charbroiled oysters (they said separate grill) with and without lump crab (really changed the flavor). I liked their version of the France 75. My non-GF husband and friends also enjoyed the alligator wings, corn crab soup, and gumbo. And their bourbon was good. The GFmarkings on the menu were confusing, though: they seemed to be only on things that are normally not safe but can be changed to safe? But the already-safe things weren’t marked? Server had to name things.

I was a little scared after reading the reviews, so I ate elsewhere beforehand. I wish I hadn’t. Our waitress was well versed in knowing exactly what celiac was and explained how certain things could be made gluten free, the menu had those items marked that were able to be modified. Unfortunately I wasn’t that hungry so all I had was the brussel sprouts with goat cheese, but wow were they good! Please don’t sleep in this place. The prices weren’t too awfully high and they really seemed to know what they were doing. Everyone on my party loved their food, and their mojitos are amazing!

Not many options on the menu and the waiter seemed iffy on what was safe.. went with a salad and didn’t get sick but quite expensive for a so-so salad

Had the crab Cajun potatoes as an appetizer and the grilled chicken and panzanella salad and it was great! All the drinks were phenomenal as well. Our server ensured me he talked with the chef to make sure my food was safe.

I got VERY sick after eating here. Our waitress assured me that they could make the shrimp and grits GF as well a dessert that was chocolate mousse with pecans. I’m not sure which one got me sick, but it was bad. It’s a shame because the food was delicious.

I went to this restaurant as part of a work event. They were helpful in checking the menu options ahead of time for me, and I never felt sick afterwards. Minus a star for no celiac-friendly dessert options.
Yes
I enjoyed the charbroiled oysters and a glass of white wine.

Saddest meal ever the options were limited seafood options limited and I ended up with a chicken Cesar salad that was so small it would feed a child only. Very disappointed in the options and value of offerings
Staff was knowledgeable about gluten free diet needs, and the menu labeled * for any dish that could be made GF. Nice atmosphere and wonderful service too!

Menu indicates which items are gluten free or can be made gluten free with asterisks. Make sure to indicate gluten free for this reason. Many options available. Staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. I had redfish on the half shell, and it was delicious. Crime Brûlée was wonderful as well. Will definitely be coming back whenever we return to New Orleans.
Yes
Had salad, petit filet and mashed potatoes w creme brûlée for dessert. Only complaint was no gf items for kids. Food was good, waiter knew about gluten. Had two in our party w celiac and we both felt great after.

They indicate gluten free options on the menu, and I asked about one not marked, and the waitress checked for me. It was new, and just hadn't been labeled GF yet, so I had it (berry salad) and was delicious. I ordered the cheese board with GF options for bread - it was on the menu as being GF if modified - and received with big slices of bread on it. That was a FAIL, but they took it away and redid the half that was arguably affected. So, you have to keep your guard up everywhere.

They indicate on their menu some options, it's not a ton but a solid amount and DELICIOUS food! I got their spinach salad with chicken a few times and it's fantastic. I also had the entree 2 fillets with mashed potatoes and mushrooms- and yes it was a little pricey- but my goodness! It was by far the best steak I've ever eaten!!

Amazing food! The options are limited but the menu does denote which options already GF and which options can be made GF. If you enjoy seafood then this would be alright for you!
Delicious meal! Knowledgeable staff. We had a waiter and a waitress, had the celiac/GF talk with the waiter and he was very knowledgeable and understanding. I assumed he would relay that I was GF to the waitress but he did not because a little later she brought us a loaf of French bread. So just be sure if you have two people waiting on you to have the GF talk with both of them. I had the roasted chicken and it was amazing! There is no dedicated GF menu but everything that is GF has a (*) next to it. Had pineapple sorbet that is made in house for dessert. It is far enough away from the crazy part of Bourbon Street which was nice.

Great food! Red fish on the half shell with crawfish was amazing! Waitress was a little inattentive.
Stopped here to get away from the craziness outside. Glad we did. Uncomplicated menu and knowledgeable staff.

Last meal for my first weekend in New Orleans did not dissapoint. Wait staff was fantastic. Plenty of gluten free options.

The Captain came out personally to discuss options. I had the shrimp creole which was very good.
I really enjoy the food here. It's very delicious. The main menu had the gluten free options marked with stars. They are great about altering the dish you want to suit your diet.

Only gluten free breakfast option was deep fried! The wait staff said there were gluten free options, but could only identify the one deep fried item. So we left. Starbucks had more gluten free options!
No
The waitress basically had a melt down when I told her I was celiac...it made me feel really uncomfortable. Unless you want a rather small wedge salad...I wouldn't recommend this place. It's obvious the servers are not informed about gluten intolerance.
Visited last night after a recommend on here and I wasn't disappointed! The food was lovely and the staff very helpful and welcoming. I had the fillet it was coked to perfection!
Yes
GF choices clearly marked as are dishes that can be altered. I had an incredible redfish filet swathed in crabmeat and a delicious sauce. Pricey, but worth it!

Waiters were very knowledgable. Menu indicated gluten free items. Had the Petit Filet and it was incredible!
The only bad meal I've had in NOLA. Sausage in omelet looked and tasted like diced Spam. Egg was all egg whites and cooked hard. Hash browns were dry and tasteless. I couldn't find the cheese that was supposed to be in the omelet. The only good thing was the waitress who was gluten knowledgeable. Also, the restaurant itself doesn't open at 6:30, only the bar - no sign or anything to tell you that.
Yes
good food server aware of gluten
Ordered breakfast, sim to another in our party... Asked for biscuit on sep plate. Other breakfast came as I ordered, not mine. Disappointed. Celiacs, beware. Food was good, but... for $12 breakfast, shouldn't have to ask for them to redo it.
The server was very knowledgable. They took good care of me and offered me piece of mind. Excellent gluten free redfish on the half shell (signature dish)! No worries about getting sick here.
