They list on their menu which options are GF, which are somewhat limited, and not all the staff were knowledgeable about gluten free. I originally order a steak meal, but then was told they don’t serve it any more, so I ordered spam rice rolls. When they first brought out the rice rolls, they also brought out a spicey mayo sauce to go with it. I asked and they said the sauce wasn’t gluten free (but the waiter serving us didn’t know and had to ask somebody else). They apologized and brought me out gluten free soy sauce after that. When I had finished the rolls, I ordered some rice rolls wrapped in bacon which were listed as GF on the menu. When bacon rolls came out I found they were fried in oil, which I wasn’t expecting and the menu didn’t indicate that they would be fried. I asked if the oil they were fried in was used to fry food containing gluten, and the waiter didn’t know and went to the kitchen to ask. A different waiter then came out and explained that she didn’t know exactly what gluten was and whether or not it is in wheat, and after I confirmed that gluten is in wheat she told me the bacon rolls were fried in the same oil as their fried chicken (breaded). They were nice and took back the bacon rolls and I didn’t have to pay for them, but I think the bacon rolls should not be labeled as GF on the menu as they truly are not. (Not celiac friendly) I didn’t end up ordering anything else after that. I did not get sick from the first spring rolls I ordered.
