I ordered delivery of the jimmy pesto with sausage. But when it was delivered I saw it had the pepperoni(not gluten free) on it. I called and even with the gf crust and such unless you specifically tell them to omit the pepperoni, it will come with it. Luckily I didn’t eat it. I called and they made me another pizza and I went to pick it up. We talked about how the online order form is confusing.
Get the Jimmy Pesto and replace the pepperoni with sausage - you will not be disappointed. I’ve never had crust that made me that excited about GF crust before. It also kept well in the fridge so you can have cold pizza the next day 🤩
It’s hard to find thick, puffy gluten-free pizza, this is where it’s at! Definitely stop by and try this pizza

I hate to be the person with the negative review but I ordered pizza to my hotel from here with all of the rave reviews but ended up horribly sick. I don't know if I received a regular pizza or what but it was not good.
Love this pizza! The fluffy texture of the crust is unmatched! I’ve never gotten sick, but like another reviewer, I have also received a wrong order once. Luckily it was an entirely different pizza so it was easy to spot…still left me kinda nervous. They also don’t mark the box as GF. I will (cautiously) keep ordering though because it’s so good and because cc has never been an issue, I’m just careful about checking that it’s the right order.
I love Boxcar. They have some of the best gf pizza in Portland and I've eaten here many many times and never gotten sick. There was one time when they gave me a regular pizza instead of a gf one but I didn't eat it once I saw what it looked like.
I waited to write my review because I was low key convinced I ate gluten because of how delicious and thick the crust was! Accommodating staff and VERY tasty pizza. Can’t believe it’s all vegan too!
I was so nervous to try this place. I did not get sick! The pizza was good and also expensive. I’ve tried it twice now and had no reaction the second time either. I won’t be eating here again just because I don’t like the pizza but maybe you will.
I eat here all the time and it's always a good experience. I add a note in the comment section requesting clean gloves and knives be used. The staff takes it seriously and I haven't had an issue eating here
No separate prep area, utensils or oven. Staff gave me the cold shoulder so I did not feel safe eating here. Do Not recommend for Celiacs! They do have GF dough for those who are gluten intolerant.
I let the kitchen know I had celiac and was told the would take precautions. Had the Bianca pizza two times and the margarita pizza a different time. Was fine afterwards.
The crust was delightfully thick and fluffy but flavorless. The vegan meat toppings were hard and chewy, and they put roughly chopped RAW garlic under all the cheese. So it was still uncooked when I ate it. In one bite, I got almost a whole raw clove in my mouth. Toppings in flavorful too.
Tried it a second time to see if it was a fluke. But no, it wasn’t. They have no sense. Wish there was a safe gluten free and dairy free spot in town. That actually tastes good
I think I can honestly say this is the best gluten-free crust I’ve ever eaten. Very light and fluffy and thick. As good or better than a lot of not gluten-free crusts that I’ve eaten in the past as well. The guy who cooked the pizzas took it very seriously and talked to us about cross-contamination when we came in, and also said he did his best. No reactions for our family, one of whom is diagnosed celiac and typically responds to any crumb or bit of cross-contamination. We happen to have a number of vegans in our family as well, so that was an added benefit that everything here is vegan. Sadly the chicken wings are not gluten-free, someday maybe…

Super thick airy light crispy crust. Very unique and VERY delicious. Everything is vegan! Spacious, cute outdoor dining area. Incredible.
Really tasty pizza! I believe the standard and gluten free doughs are made separately in a different location and they are just baked here. Staff was very helpful in talking through how they made the pizzas. Ask for them to use a clean pan to help avoid cross contact.
