I checked findmeglutenfree for the SF Brenda's and saw that the shrimp and grits might be an option. When I was seated, I informed my server that I had celiac and asked to check if the shrimp and grits had gluten. He said it shouldn't, listed the ingredients, but cautioned me that there could be cross contamination. He would put a note *and* talk to the chef. The culinary director came out to talk to me, and he stressed the worry for cross contamination. I told him that I haven't had problems in the past with other restaurants, so I wanted to try. They agreed to try, and oh man! The shrimp and grits was divine. It's so nice to have gluten free options that are delicious and fulfilling. And I felt very taken care of and listened to by all the staff. Major kudos to them for being informed and up front. Over all amazing experience!
