No longer a dedicated GF facility. They have gluten bread now.

The pastries are made in the small kitchen area. They keep the gluten bread separate from the GF stuff.

But I got sick today.

From the owner

All baking done in house is exclusively gluten free. Some syrups for our drinks are produced in a facility that processes wheat, so be sure to ask if your order a drink!

Q: What will you find on our GF menu besides Espresso drinks, matcha, tea and Boba?

A: Muffins, Scones, Crepes, Hot Sandwiches (made with our delicious homemade bread), Breakfast Sandwich, Hamburgers and the BEST GF pizza slices! Might find quiche, cookies or other baked goods.

Q: What are some additional measures you take to prevent cross contamination?

A: Separate grills in separate areas for making regular and GF sandwiches, any regular (non-gf) pastries arrive and remain sealed in their package, we keep separate utensils and retire the wash rag/water, etc. after washing the regular area and sanitize our wash bin, no gloves crossing over the aisle (from reg to GF). Before opening, we consulted with people who have celiac to put safe processes in place.

Q: What do you bake in your kitchen?

A: Our kitchen is small and we only bake gluten free food in our kitchen.

Q: Do you accommodate other dietary restrictions?

A: We can definitely try! Ask for Melissa if she is there. She knows the most about ingredients that might be hidden in foods. But please also share your knowledge so that an employee who might not know that, for example, soy is many times present in oil in chips or spray oil used on the grill can check a label.

Q: Do you offer alternative milks?

A: Yes. Therefore, if you cannot tolerate oat milk or have an almond allergy, please make sure the barista knows. Standard procedure is to wash, rinse, sanitize the steaming pitchers throughout the day but not after every single use. They are stored in the refrigerator. If you are allergic, you need to ask for it to be sanitized before making your drink.

Q; What is your most popular item from GF visitors?

A: People passing through love the huge selection, especially our crepes!

This little 100% gluten-free cafe is an absolute gem in Durango. It’s the only place I’ve been in Durango where I can order whatever coffees, breakfast, sandwiches, and pastries I want without worrying about cross-contamination, and it’s all great quality. It’s also a super friendly, family-run, cozy little spot, and it has outdoor seating too! Highly recommend the Anasazi mocha, cranberry scones, and Bear Creek breakfast sandwich. Even though the rest of my family doesn’t have celiac, they love this place too because the food and coffee is so great! Highly recommend.
