Review of Brick Ridge

NO! NO! NO! NO! NO!

I don't have Celiac. My girlfriend does. I avoid gluten because any contact with it gets my girlfriend extremely ill.

I was please to find the Brick Ridge Restaurant online, boasting a Celiac-friendly, gluten-free menu.

My girlfriend and I both ordered off that menu, and the waiter assured us that he was well versed in Gluten Free diets and that he would replace the Farro with a Gluten free substitute.

When the meal came, we didn't even question the grain that was used. I am no chef, and I assumed it was some kind of rice I had never used...We were obviously not that lucky. The Chef replaced the Farro with Barley.

BARLEY WAS THEIR SUBSTITUTE ON THEIR GLUTEN-FREE OPTIONS MENU!!!!

I gotta admit. It tasted damned good. That certainly doesn't help though when it came down to the dizziness and stomach cramps my girlfriend started having at the end of dinner. It doesn't help now that she is vomiting everything up right now, while we were supposed to be celebrating our birthdays together.

Birthday date night...effectively ruined.
