I can't say enough good things about this beautiful place! My friend and I stopped in for brunch the weekend after Christmas. There was live music and a really extensive selection of GF items. No shared fryer so I was able to eat fish and chips, plus I had their clam and mussel chowder. For the breakfast bread they brought my friend a regular chocolate chip blueberry muffin and I was so surprised when she also placed a GF version of the same in front of me, served with lemon curd. That extra touch was very thoughtful, the food was delicious, and I did not get sick. Will definitely go back!

May 2019: I love this place. Amazing views and lots of GF options safe for celiacs. I ordered clam chowder and fish & chips. Save room for dessert or take some to-go for later. Really nice GF dessert options that are a nice small size & very reasonably priced. August 2016: I am celiac and I really enjoyed this place. Lots of GF options, very knowledgable and pleasant server, great water view and atmosphere. My husband and I went for dinner. It felt very "date night" and that was nice. I got the fish and chips -- not as crispy as I was expecting but very good. Dedicated fryer. And many GF dessert options too. I got the chocolate silk pie and it was delicious! So rich. Felt very comfortable and would definitely go back.

The restaurant itself was very nice, with a fantastic view. The majority of the menu was gluten free or adaptable. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. However, the food was not very tasty. My cod salad sandwich on the menu sounded delightful, boasting of dill and capers, but in reality the capers were not present and the cod itself was quite bland. I asked for mayonnaise to dress it up a bit, but it was rather disappointing. My mother did say her salad was very tasty, but my friend was unimpressed with her fish and chips and my daughter with celiac disease that loves buttered noodles with Parmesan did not like her buttered noodles. I can report that she did not feel ill after what little she did eat. Overall, the prices were high for what seems like mediocre food.

Absolutely loved this place! They make their own gluten free rolls, which were honestly some of the best gf bread I’ve ever had. Their menu is clearly marked with what is gluten free and what is available in gluten free with modifications and every dessert they offer is gf! I got the clam and mussel chowder, house salad (with homemade ranch dressing), and a trio of their desserts! The cobbler was my favorite! Great service and a beautiful view too! Definitely want to go back the next time I visit.

By our server’s count (and I double-checked), all but 3 items on the menu are or can be made gluten-free. The fryer is totally safe, and they offer GF burger buns and bread. It’s a little pricey, but I highly recommend!

This place is amazing! And not just because of the view! For starters, they have great gf dinner rolls. My husband and I ordered the Seafood Cakes of the Day and Calamari Bites for our first course. Very good, no complaints. For dinner I had the Shoalwater Cioppino and my husband had the New York Steak. Both excellent! I expected a cute little lump of crab on top of my soup, but to my surprise, was served 3 very large, whole crab legs on top! For dessert we split a Brownie Sundae, which was also very good, but I wish it had been bigger. LOL. Our waitress was very nice and very knowledgeable about gf even though she herself was not. Almost the whole menu is gf and I wish I could have sampled it all! We will definitely be coming back the next time we're in Astoria.

THE BEST THING ON PLANET EARTH!!! I am not kidding this was in all forms of delicious. If I could put 20/5 stars, I would. The service was so genuine and kind. Not only am I very celiac, but I am also lactose intolerant. They were so good to make my meal accommodating to all my allergic needs. I was pretty much crying tears of joy of how good this place was. My family also enjoyed their meals (and some of them are VERY VERY PICKY). I recommend this place for everyone!!!

The food was wonderful! I was so excited to be able to order fish and chips. The waiter told me that they use a gluten free batter for everything that is fried so there was no cross-contamination. Everything on the menu that was "naturally" gluten was marked as well as items that they could make gluten free and they were marked with different markings so you knew the difference. This was a fantastic find.

At least one member of the Waitstaff blatantly did not comprehend celiac or gluten allergy. That was the one we got... Despite being very clear about celiac and gluten allergy, the waitstaff put regular bread on the plate. It ended up falling onto the floor so they brought us some new pieces. While this was cooking we started to eat. They brought the new bread and thankfully we asked about the bread because it looked like normal bread. The waitstaff told us you have to specify that you want gf bread at each course... we only had placed the order for wine, then our full order with an app... the whole time Clarifying GF needs. Having put the silverware down where the bread had originally been has lead to a celiac reaction... The food seemed great, and we felt confident going there, but did not expect to have to deal with this there. We worked with several staff members, and several comprehended, but ours did not. We chose to not finish the meal and leave, they did comp the meal, but spending the next month recovering from the reaction is not equal. I only say not celiac friendly because staff did not comprehend. I believe the food if entered correctly and no cross contamination issues occurred we would have been fine.

While on a week vacation, my husband and I stopped here twice. I am a sensitive celiac and did great both times. The first time I had the chowder, a salad with pesto chicken, and a chocolate dessert. Yum! The second time I had chowder and split fish and chips with my husband. The breading on the fish was outstanding and my non-gluten free husband was even impressed. They were large pieces of fish. Out of three fish and chip meals while on the coast, this was by far the best. Both waitresses were very knowledgeable when questioned and seemed more than willing to help (a real winner there!). This should be at the top of your list if you are a celiac when visiting the northwest coast of Oregon!

The food was really, really good. Tons of gluten free options. Tells you on menu. Macaroni and cheese with baby shrimp and a gf panko breading on top. Really good, but could of used a little more cheese. Was a little soupy. Also had seafood cakes( like a crab cake but with different fishes). That was super good. Had ciappino. Was good but a little to tomato saucey. Great atmosphere. Get to look out at the ocean through wall of windows.

Forget that most of the menu is gluten-free – the food is great! The service is great! The location is great! Eating out when you eat gluten free can be challenging unless you encounter a gem like Bridgewater Bistro! We cannot say enough good things about this place! Our server, Steve, was friendly, personable and professional. We enjoyed the clam/mussel chowder, seafood cakes and fried oysters. The Italian bread was outstanding. Everything was wonderful including the rum julep cocktail we ordered. We recommend this restaurant without hesitation. Enjoy!

Bridgewater Bistro is a great restaurant with a very nice selection of gluten free options. We ordered a few plates to share and all of them were incredible! The lamb lollipops and house chowder were the highlights, but the grilled prawns and arugula salad with prosciutto were also delicious. The menu is clearly labeled with GF or GF-A (can be made gluten free with some modifications) and the staff is very knowledgeable. One of the owners has Celiac, so even though the restaurant isn't a 100% dedicated GF facility (the menu is about 90% GF), it is as close as it gets and they are extremely careful when preparing GF food.

Wait staff well informed about gluten issues and very accommodating for other allergies also, like dairy and nut (I learned from eavesdropping at the other table). Waitress was happy to ask the chef what she didn't know. House-made GF Bread super yummy and didn't fall apart even though there was a ton of turkey on my sandwich. Corn/rice battered cod so good, and I'm picky about my fish! bonus points for multiple GF beer and ciders. All deserts were GF and brownie sundae amazed us. Great view also. Normally we stay in Cannon beach and take a day trip to Astoria, but soon I will be staying in Astoria just so I can try brunch, happy hour and dinner since lunch was so great. Will be back ASAP!

We may have to move to Astoria just so we can eat here on a regular basis. We went here twice, (lunch and dinner) and each time the servers were incredibly knowledgable, even double checked ingredients, like if the Cajun seasoning was GF. Almost everything on the menu is GF adaptable if it's not already GF. The sandwich bread is delicious - not dusty or gritty like GF bread can be. Soups are heavenly; the cioppino is scrumptious. It's so enjoyable to eat in such a gorgeous setting (right on the water) and also with such peace of mind that there is extremely low risk of cross-contamination.
