GF pizza is made on individual tin pan; the crust was excellent!
My two year went out for pizza and it was great!!!! Good gf crust, vegan cheese at no extra cost and knowledgeable staff!
Was super excited about having somewhere to take my daughter who has a gluten sensitivity. We are new to GF and read the reviews and decided to go as a back to school treat. They have options but please confirm that it's GF with your wait staff before you eat it. I asked the food runner and she said that it was the GF pizza crust. My daughter ate it and 10 minutes later was hurting. Manager let us know they brought the wrong pizza out. Thank goodness she's not highly allergic. They were very apologetic but I felt helpless as we had done everything right and I knew she would be hurting all night. :(
yummy! go after 10 pm for BOGO pizzas during the week
Yummy pizza! The spinach dip with gluten free bread is the best! Salad isn't so good but pizza is great!
I love their pizzas!! Every pizza can be ordered on GF crust but some toppings are more subject to cross contamination. They're really good about knowing which ones. I always order them well done because it helps the gluten free pizza dough bake through all the way to the middle. Also, their salad dressings are safe too. The Mediterranean salad is so good and I've added grilled chicken to make it a dinner. There are plenty of options on their menu...even beer. Update: I keep getting sick here. I think that the cross contamination is too severe for celiacs. This place would still be good for someone living the GF lifestyle but not for allergies, acute intolerance, or celiacs.
I thought the pizza was mushy and flavorless.
Delicious crust..my friends couldn't tell it was gfree!
Great GF pizza!! Great service
Brixx has good food but GF pizza is cooked in same oven as regular pizzas. If you are concerned about contamination this might not be the place for you.
amazing gluten free pizza! good rice crust that is cooked on its own metal sheet to prevent cross contamination.
I did not get sick, and the texture of the crust was good, but it was completely flavorless. We got two different kinds of GF pizzas, the roasted vegetable and the margherita, and both were incredibly bland. We actually put salt and pepper on both to add some flavor, which is something I never do. Also, overpriced.
Tried Brixx for the first time in a very long time. Historically, the pizza was really good & tasty, but it seemed to always make my husband sick. They have changed their crust (probably to make it more safe?), but it's pretty terrible. The 2 pizza's we ordered had no flavor and the crust was generic, plain, and dry. waitstaff was super friendly, but we won't go back- not worth the time or money.
One night we had pizza. It was pretty good, and the GF crust was actually thicker than the regular! We came back the next night and I had the ceaser salad. It was okay, but the chicken was dry. I felt safe eating here because the server assured us it was prepared separately.
They have a great extent of gluten free options but as for most places they don't have appetizers on their gluten free menu BUT there are no gluten containing ingredients in the spinach and artichoke dip and you can ask for them to use the gluten free pizza dough for the "pita". It's amazing and I have not had a reaction to it. If you're looking for an alcoholic beverage you can get a captain Morgan and coke or ask for Malibu if they have any and sprite or pineapple and orange juice. Those are the two alcohol drinks I know don't have gluten in them. Only downside is staff isn't THAT knowledgeable about gluten allergies.
the staff was attentive and very knowledgable about gluten free. pizza comes on it's own tin and my daughter didn't get sick and enjoyed herself. not the best gluten free pizza, so I knocked off a star. however, it isn't bad, so we will be back since it is a safe pizza option.
We recently ate here and would highly recommend it! Service was amazing, even on a busy Saturday night. The owner sent an employee across the street to Whole Foods to buy gluten free graham crackers and made my 5 year old his very own smores Pizza (made on a disposable pan so no fear of cross contamination). Total win for our entire family!
They have a separate gluten-free menu and the pizza comes in its own metal pan (I was watching the oven and the pizza peels and feeling a little concerned until I saw that!) My husband reports that it isn't as good as Mellow Mushroom's GF crust but he likes the thin crust and the variety of options available.
This place was amazing! The owners personally met with us and gave us a free dessert that wasn't on the menu yet to see if we liked it. It was amazing! I highly recommend it! I am gluten sensitive and had the gluten free Pizza and it was the best pizza I have ever had and I did not have a reaction to it.
Very good pizza, but not many options. You can get a salad, fruit cup, or 4by4 pizza. For desert, you can get plain vanilla ice cream, but brixx does not make it. It is processed in a facility that may contaminate it. Servers are very kind and understanding.
The GF crust was good and my kids liked it! Asked if the pepperoni was GF and waitress said yes. GF pizza appeared to be cooked in its own pizza tin. Unfortunately, both my kiddos woke up with severe belly pains and diarrhea. One can't even eat lunch she hurts so bad. We won't be going back... 😢
Excellent selection on the GF menu. Minor inconvenience: you need the regular menu, as the GF menu lacks descriptions of the pizzas, and the individual pizzas are not listed in the same sequence on the two different menus. The crust itself was average: had that rubbery consistency that assures you they didn't get the order wrong; however, the pizzas were otherwise very good. GF dough is placed on aluminum pan and put in separate area of oven. I've eaten there twice without a reaction. Friendly service, too.
Loved it. Ask for the GF menu, lots of options and the pizza is GREAT. ($3 surcharge for the GF crust, but it's worth it.) had a note in the menu that they prepare GF pizzas in a separate section of the kitchen to avoid cross contamination. They had a nice deal for half a salad and half a pizza for, I think, $10.95. I'll go here often.
Tobin the manager was extremely helpful with allergies as he himself suffers from nut allergy. they use daiya cheese for pizzas and have great options. best part is they dont nickle and dime you. only a 3 dollar surcharge for the gf crust 3.00. highly suggest if you live nearby to make it a favorite place!
pizza was very good just burnt around edges
I've been here twice now and both times, I've really enjoyed my food. The first time, I got the Carribean Jerk pizza on their gluten free crust. It was really good! Second time, I went for lunch and got the half pizza half salad special. I got the 4x4 on gluten free crust and their spinach salad. The pizza was absolutely delicious. The salad was pretty good too. The only downside is they charge $3 extra for gluten free crust, so it's a little on the expensive side. They have a separate kitchen for prepping and cooking gluten free pizzas, it's in a completely different room. I have Celiac and haven't gotten sick. Definitely my favorite pizza place!
Love the pizza, which you can get with gluten free crust, and the atmosphere! I'm not sure if there is any gluten-free beer or a dedicated prep area for gf pizza, but I had no reaction. I don't have celiacs so if you're really sensitive, I wouldn't risk it.
I always get the Margarita pizza and it is almost always yummy. One time the crust was soggy and they can also be a little greedy with the cheese. I have eaten here many times and I have never gotten sick. It seems they take great caution to avoid cross contamination.
Really delicious gf pizza. It isn't the crust with the round circles on the bottom. Dough comes in its own foil little pan & is cooked in separate part of the kitchen. So no issues with cross contamination on pans! I had the Mediterranean chicken pizza. Spinach, tomatoes, roast chicken & feta. So good! They also have a vegan cheese option. Loved it & will definitely be back!
Toppings are great but the crust is funny and under cooked CONSISTENTLY. Salad came out with a huge chunk of bread and the same salad was sent back out replated with no real effort to conceal (first salad had dressing on top, second dressing was on the bottom). UNHAPPY.
Update: I just tried Brixx again in August 2015. Didn't have any reactions...Yay! But the food was disgusting. I had a salad with chicken. 2014: I ate off of the gluten free menu and definitely had gluten in my entree. Luckily, I tried it before taking my kids there. We won't be going back.
Although trendy and friendly, GF pizza from Brixx is ultimately a disappointment. I'm glad they're trying to satisfy gluten-sensitive customers and the toppings aren't bad at all. But the crust, oh the nasty crust. Many of you have already experienced this Rich food GF abomination, served in its own aluminum tray to avoid cross contamination. Unfortunately, the aluminum also reflects the oven heat away from the crust leaving it unbaked and terrible tasting. Sorry, Brixx. Sample some GF Z Pizza and learn how to do this right.
Pretty decent gf crust. Even good cold, which is a rarity in my experience. Got the Wild Mushroom, and the rotating hard cider draft (some local VA one I forget the name of ). Delish. I wrote this several hours later. Definitely not glutened. But didn't watch them make the pie, so I can't say how well they protect against cc. It's not my usual style of pizza (Jersey girl in the house) , but for what it is, it's pretty damn good.
Offer gf pita wedges for appetizers and gf pizza options. Staff is very friendly!
