There are different locations for Broderick Roadhouse. I read reviews on this app and it looked like the West Sacramento location had the best reviews, with a dedicated fryer for fries, as well. I called a few days ahead, and a female answered. I said I’d heard the restaurant had options for people who can’t eat gluten. She very confidently told me that almost anything in the menu can be made gluten free. I said “that’s great!” And asked about a dedicated fryer and started to explain what that is (I’ve found many people need to be told that means that the fries are fried by themselves and without being friend alongside other breaded foods). She said they definitely have a dedicated fryer. I thanked her and told her we are excited to eat there and hung up.

Flash forward to yesterday, meeting my whole family there for lunch. Saturday lunchtime, first time there, the place is pretty jumping. They have a wide variety of items on the menu, from Cobb salads to 10 different kinds of French fries to duck burgers. My daughter and I are Celiacs and she loves it when she can actually eat French fries when we eat out. We go to order, our waitress was approachable, knowledgeable, and friendly. But when I verified that the fryer was dedicated, she said it’s definitely NOT. She asked who had told me that? I only knew it was a female who worked there and answered the phone, but I told her everything that I was told. She said that they can’t make everything gluten free, that they are trying to work on becoming more gluten-free friendly, and she graciously apologized for my being given the wrong information. She did confirm I could get the Reuben on a gluten free bun, with a side salad.

One thing she did note is that one of the cooks is very familiar with safe cooking practices for gluten free, and I appreciate that she was honest and herself knowledgeable, so that We did not get sick.

Disappointed that reviews on this app were of false information. Always check with your server, just in case! I’d say that there are still many options for Celiacs, suck as eggs and sausage and bacon for breakfast, many burger options and some salad options.
