I ordered for pick up. Everything was marked for a gluten allergy. I had the chicken tenders, garlic parm fries and Michigan cherry salad. Everything was very good. I felt safe eating from there and I didn’t get sick.

Tons of gluten free food and drink options. Kitchen is not dedicated, very knowledgeable about cross contact. Everything gluten free is tagged on the menu and a dedicated fryer is used also. Chicken tenders and fries were 10/10

We had a great dining experience here tonight! I had GF chicken tenders & garlic parm French fries. Items are clearly marked on the menu. They have a dedicated frier. Staff was also knowledgeable! Garlic aioli & ranch dressing were both delicious! I definitely felt safe eating here. Will be back!

We said we love great food and we mean eat! We specialize in fresh food made daily. Enjoy our pulled pork, brisket, “beer-can” chicken or bacon smoked fresh in our smoker each day. Enjoy a fabulous salad, ground brisket burger or house-made pretzels. We specialize in Gluten free so you can find something for a special diet. Our dressings and BBQ sauces are made from scratch here at Brown Iron too!

Great food, watch a Lions game. Celiac knowledge good, has a sign on the door advertising celiac awareness. The beer can chicken is awesome, just don't get the beer butter. Ciders, seltzers, food, and dessert. Make a trip there!

They have great gf options that are easily marked, including fries. I have never had an issue.

This is about 40 min from our house, but we'll definitely be back! The waitress was very knowledgeable about all of the GF options. The meal was amazing! I actually had a GF beer to enjoy. The staff was friendly, the restaurant was spacious and clean. There were many GF options.

Really enjoyed the gluten free beer selections and separate fryer. Told the server I had Celiac, she was all over it. Dedicated fryer made the fries a nice treat. Not sure if/when I'll be back to the Detroit area, but if I do, I'll definitely make sure to be back.

Staff (Kailee was our server) was super knowledgeable about gluten and very helpful. Meals and appetizers came out with gluten free tags so you could be sure. Tons of options for appetizers, meals and desserts.

We have eaten here a couple times. While they are good at dietary restrictions, their food is just, meh: dry, overcooked, and lacking seasoning. Definitely not worth the money for us.

Did not feel great the next day. I'm guessing it's due to some amount of cross contamination. It hasn't made me terribly sick, it's mostly mild, but definitely some noticable symptoms.
For some reason I was expecting a lot more gluten free options than were actually available on the menu. Of the main entrees, I think only one was identified as gluten free. I ordered the Burnt End Steak Tips and the Honey Dijon Salmon. The Burnt Ends were quite good, the salmon was okay. The salmon came with rice and brussel sprouts. The sprouts were very good.
I informed the waiter I had Celiac Disease and to please the kitchen know. The waiter just sort of nodded, so not sure to what extent that request was followed through on.
A little disappointing given all the high reviews for this place on here. I may give the place a second chance, but I don't know. If given the option, I may just stick to the places that have had more reliable experiences with (e.g. Republica, just down the street). The owner here seems to be very active and trying to make the place as Gf as possible, which I appreciate, so maybe I'll try again. TBD.

The first time we came here only for the GF desserts, which were amazing. Came for dinner on the second time and was a bit underwhelmed. I would prefer a restaurant that has many GF options to also have a knowledgeable staff. Our server had to keep checking with the kitchen about what was GF (if it wasn’t listed on the menu). I agree with the mismarking of GF items that have glutened sides. I got the pulled pork on a GF bun, and it was bland. The BBQ sauces on the table didn’t have any indication of being GF and it took awhile for our server to get back to us on an answer (they are). I did get a GF beer which was nice. They have a big GF selection. I would recommend caution when ordering anything.

Good food and decent amount of GF options. HOWEVER- the menu is confusing and needs work. Several dinners are labeled GF and they are not with the sides listed. A family member ordered one of these GF dishes and stating clearly to the server that he was GF. She said nothing about the side having gluten. He had assumed the entire dish was GF because it was marked that way and unfortunately ate the side that had gluten.

Been here twice now, first time only to try the food, and the second with my parents. I’m the only celiac in my family, so this place is great for family members who love the gluten too. Food quality is great, and the price honestly balances out. It leftovers well, and I enjoyed the special drinks. For those like me who don’t like beer in general, they do have Tito’s and it can be mixed into mocktails! (Potentially switched out for other drink mixes as well.) I really enjoyed the Strawberry Nojo spiked with it.

Brown Iron Brewhouse was nothing short of amazing. I had the chance to try the honey sriracha wings and the brisket burger— both great. If you are in Royal Oak looking for a gluten free restaurant, try Brown Iron!

Brown Iron was great! The server/bartender was super knowledgeable about their menu and what was and wasn’t gluten free. So great that even the BBQ sauces are GF too! On top of all that, they had some gluten free beers from Glutenberg (new brand we hadn’t heard of before today) which were awesome! Couldn’t recommend Brown Iron more - we will be back next time we are in the area to try more items on the menu!

Incredibly knowledgeable server. Came out to tell me that even though the double espresso burnt ends were GF, the sauce is not confirmed (it’s the only one not made in house and confirmed GF - the ones on the table are all safe!) I said just the dry rub no sauce was perfectly fine. The waitress/runner who brought my food gave my bf one with an allergy pick; mine had no pick but sauce so I asked her - she said it was fine but I asked her to double check with the server. My original server immediately came over (on a SUPER busy night too!) and helped take care of it, and the manager then brought out a whole new safe plate - they even gave fresh fries because they were so understanding of cross contamination (I didn’t even have to say Anything or ask!) I’m going to assume the waitress/runner was new but as a whole INCREDIBLY positive experience and I felt safe the whole time. Menu is odd because it has meals labeled GF but come with non-GFMac n cheese - merely the meat is GF and the sides can EASILY be swapped with no concern at all by staff Also- dedicated fryer and incredible fries Will 10000% go back

This is our go to place we’ve been here 2 to 3 times a month since summer time! Gluten, free, ciders, gluten free menu items we especially like the garlic, Parm fries, and the beer whole nachos!

One of my favorite places! So many gluten free options. I always get gluten free beer, the burnt ends, and loaded tots. The burger is great as well and they even have GF dessert. They take it very seriously and everyone is knowledgeable
So good! Menu is clearly marked with GF options. Such a pleasure to watch my daughter chow down on tater tots, fries and loaded nachos without having to worry about her getting sick.
No separate gluten free menu but everything was marked that was gluten free. Had their blackened fish tacos on corn tortillas. Tasty but a little dry. Staff was knowledgeable about celiac and my plate was flagged gluten free. The fries and tater tots were marked gluten free so I'm assuming they have a separate fryer.
Huge variety of GF offerings marked on the menu but they said they can make most of the menu GF just not anything battered and fried. They do have a dedicated GF fryer though with tator tots as an option. The burger I got was fine. It seemed like it was missing some of what it mentioned on the menu but maybe that stuff wasn’t GF. The bun wasn’t bad.
Always a good time and food at Brown Iron. It makes me feel almost like my pre-gluten free self. I am comfortable ordering so many things from the menu, including beer which is something that was so hard to give up when realizing I had celiac disease. I’ve been told the owners daughter has celiac so the kitchen is actually trained instead of pretending to be like a lot of other restaurants.
First timer at this restaurant and it was really good!! Separate kitchen for gf foods and the food is delicious. I had the burger, fries, and bbq beans. They also have GF ciders.
Great pulled pork dinner and staff was knowledgeable. Multiple GF beers and ciders available on tap as well.

What a pleasant surprise to go to a traditional brewery and Celiac be taken so seriously. I picked this place because the reviews seemed reliable, and they held up. There are several options and a dedicated fryer. I had the nacho appetizer, burger on gluten free bun with fries. Everything was delicious, safe, and did not get sick in anyway. Servers are knowledgeable, menu is clearly marked, and they also have gluten free beer available. Nice cocktails too. Definitely worth a stop, fun atmosphere for day or night.
They understand celiac very well. Big menu with many gf options. For kids one thing they have is gf chicken tenders and fries. The fries are prepared safely and made in a dedicated gf fryer and they are delicious! The chicken tenders are super good maybe even better than normal chicken tenders. I love this place and you should definitely try it out!

I love Brown Iron for an easy go to place. They have family with celiac and the staff is well trained. I just wish they would include us in the weekly specials. Food is always enjoyable.

Had their wings and fries. On request they used a dedicated fryer. Waiter repeated back my request for gluten free and dairy free. And the wings and fries were very good.
So many gluten free menu options including salad dressings and bbq sauces. The staff knew about celiac as soon as I mentioned it and covered all that they do to ensure my meal would be prepped and served without cross contamination. My plate was the last out and the server had gloves on. The people with me also noticed how perfectly and seamlessly I was taken care of. I spoke to the manager at the end of the meal to thank them for all the options and the care they take. She said the owner's daughter has celiac disease and they work really hard to offer as many gluten free options as possible and make sure the cooking and service are handled properly. Will definitely dine here again. What a treat!
Been here many times, without issue. No one wears masks so I am more comfortable ordering carryout lately. Unfortunately I have ordered the Nachos for takeout twice now, both times specifying GLUTEN FREE/ FOR CELIAC. It’s come marked GF, yet both times I’ve been incredibly sick. The food is delicious, but I don’t think I can trust this place for a third time.
