Told the server I was allergic to gluten and she immediately asked me if I was celiac, noted it on her pad, and walked me through what my options were and what the chef could vary to make the food safe—doing items that were grilled in a pan, for example, because the grill was also used to grill bread (in a different spot, but she wanted to be sure). Then she checked with the chef and reported back, and was very clear I shouldn’t eat my friend’s chips because it was a shared fryer. Very knowledgeable and helpful and the food was delicious. There were lots of options for GF, and a lovely wine list too.
