Before my celiac diagnosis, we ate at B&B fairly often. We’ve eaten at B&B three times since my celiac diagnosis and tonight was probably my last. I’ve had the gluten free bun on a burger. Not great…I believe it’s the standard Udi’s bun but it isn’t heated or toasted so it’s crumbly and dry. I had the southwest chicken salad w/ chipotle ranch dressing twice and it was good but they told me the tortilla strips weren’t GF, so I left those off. Tonight I went in and ordered that same salad, mentioned celiac, and the waitress came back after speaking with the manager and told me the chicken is marinated in a non-GF marinade and the ranch/chipotle ranch dressings are also not GF…but the tortilla strips were fine?!? So either I was given incorrect information before and was glutened on two separate occasions (I’m silent celiac so I’m not aware when it happens), or I was given incorrect information tonight. Either way, I’m hesitant to eat there again bc of this contradictory information. Also, there are extremely limited options for anyone needing GF. No appetizers are GF, the salad protein options are limited to plain steak or plain salmon and without certain toppings or dressings, most sandwiches/wraps have chicken which is apparently not GF there, and the burgers have the unheated GF bun. No dedicated fryer for fries so those also are not an option. I think this establishment could do a bit better to serve the community needing GF options.
