I was visiting biweekly. About 2 months ago, I ordered a breakfast bowl, I had a reaction. I stopped going. My husband bought me a gf birthday cake last week. I had a reaction. Sad to say I will not be trying again. Usually once is enough but since the cake was a surprise I thought I’d give it a 2nd chance.
Button Rock is hit or miss. They have a lot of delicious gf baked goods and sandwiches. The staff is knowledgeable and some precautions are taken (lining baking sheets, glove changes, thorough cleaning etc.) but the equipment is shared and the risk of cc is sufficient for those of us with celiac.
My significant other works there and sometimes brings home leftovers. I’m willing to take the risk with eating most baked goods and have not had a reaction that I know of but for sandwiches and such the kitchen has too many points where things can go wrong in my opinion. Button Rock tries but I would definitely approach with caution.
Lots of gf options, but not incredibly safe. I usually end up getting symptoms if I gamble with getting a sandwich.
Baked goods are hit or miss. I'll be fine several times in a row, and then suddenly have symptoms. I'm not celiac, and my symptoms are generally moderate. Taking the gamble isn't quite as detrimental for me, but I'd advise those who are celiac or have intense symptoms to approach with caution.
This is an excellent place for gluten free desserts, sandwiches and so much more! They make the coolest specialty cakes and delicious cinnamon rolls…oh the delight in finding this place!!! Every tray that is black is gluten free and there is a lot!! I highly recommend!!
So many items marked GF, but they are NOT safe. They only replace pavement paper. They use same equipment, same trays, ect They told me NOT to eat here if I am celiac. Such a disappointment. The kitchen is huge. It would be so easy to take the precautions to make their items safe, but they choose not to.
Amazing GF baked goods. They also have vegan goods ( have not tried them as of yet) Love everything that I have tried. They do not have a seperate kitchen at this time but are very careful and knowledgeable about cross contamination. I am very sensitive and have not had a problem yet and have eatten there a few times. They are all very friendly and helpful and they try to localy source. So happy i have found this bakery.
They had tons of gluten free stuff. The GF stuff is in the same glass cases with items containing gluten, so I'm not sure if it is ok for someone with Celiac.
Wonderful place to go for dessert or for special occasions. Not entirely GF but the owner is GF. I have never had a reaction. Right next to the Morning Glory restaurant and it is GF as well.
