Review of Cafe 1217

Have eaten here Gluten Free twice in the last couple of weeks. Last visit was last Saturday with Celiac daughter. I'm gluten intolerant. First visit by myself, was during the week and the regular employees which have worked there for like 10 years understood perfectly. Second visit with Celiac daughter was a Saturday and the younger girl taking orders had no idea what she was doing. They didn't have any Dempsey muffins so they had to substitute a piece of Dempsey bread with daughter's fruit and chicken salad plate but not before they put a regular muffin on the plate because the young girl didn't tell them it was GF...after I told her several times. The long time employees understood when I said that we couldn't accept the plate because the muffin had touched the fruit and remade it with no problems or complaints. They also have a couple of Dempsey Bakery desserts and buns etc. Great food and service and now GF options. Just make sure you question if you don't think it is GF.
