I tried to contact the restaurant prior to arrival to ask about menu options and never received a return call. When I asked our server about gf options he said to just look at the menu and it would have tiny print by the items. He was not helpful. I only found a note by the fajitas and when my order arrived it had flour tortillas. I agree with another reviewer that the food was tasteless and my staff member was not helpful.
— Gluten-free items are marked on the main menu
Delicious, the staff were knowledgeable about which items were gluten free. The chips aren’t made here so they are safe!
This was the most bland Mexican food I have ever had. I asked about the gluten free menu (pictured on this app from 2016) and was not provided with one. Instead I was told that the options are “very limited”. I ordered 2 grilled fish tacos for $15 with a side salad - SUPER bland! Just white fish, dry cabbage, and a corn tortilla. No seasoning on the fish whatsoever. My non-GF family also agreed their food was bland.
— Not at all
— Separate gluten-free menu
— Not Much
— Poor
They do have a GF menu but it seems like an afterthought. The server didn't seem to know anything about allergen protocols in the kitchen. I declined to eat there.
Good at telling you which items are GF. They have a GF menu. Don’t get the rice, not GF.
We were very disappointed with this restaurant. Their GF menu is extremely limited (5 or so choices) for a Mexican restaurant. I had their grilled fish tacos which had no flavor. My brother, who also has celiac disease, ordered the margarita chicken, which they delivered without any of the sides. The food did not make me sick though...just upset that I had to pay $15 for something that I did not enjoy eating. Our waiter was not familiar with the GF menu and so couldn’t help us much. We would have been better off at Rubio’s!
They have a gluten free menu, and I ordered from it without any ill effects, but my food had no flavor. I ordered the GF chicken fajitas, and it tasted like they just steamed everything in the skillet with water, and didn't add any spices or seasonings. The other two people in our party ordered the pollo al a crema, and loved it (their's was not GF).
yes they have a gf menu. yes the server is aware of gf items. I ordered fajitas and asked the server who brought out the meal to conform meal was gf...yes was the reply. it was not! out table server stopped me just in time when she realised they had given me flour tortillas. I was very apprehensive about eating the rest of the meal. They apologized and offered me a free dessert. Also they didn't have the wine I asked for or a Mojito. ?. so 3rd time lucky for that too. would recommend going to Miguel ' s across the road.
The food was more like 2-3 stars but since it was safe to eat I'm giving it 4. Gluten free menu, they understood cross contamination. The tortilla chips are not made at the restaurant but come there prepackaged so they are gluten free. Maybe not fresh but safe! Unfortunately restaurants often translate gluten free into flavor free. The meat had no flavor. Be sure not to eat the corn tortillas unless they are able to sanitize the equipment since they are freshly made on the same press as flour tortillas. I didn't try them. I much prefer Miguel's across the street!
