I love the "i am bueno"... Tacos... And get grilled onions added on. I love it, and feel very energized by this meal.

New review: they have bread on the menu so I've been very leery about coming here as frequently as we used to. I'm careful to stress that we are glutenfree and I haven't been glutened. You can get the bread items gf by using a dehydrated "live bread" but it's not a sandwich, just a pile of food. Desserts are still great though. Old review: I nearly cried when I tasted my first bite from Cafe Gratitude. Glutenfree, vegan, AND amazing? It was so delicious, I went back the next day and ate there again. The ratatouille was magical. The chocolate coconut pie with a side of caramel sauce makes the world a better place. I loved enjoying a delicious ethical meal that made me feel physically amazing after. No gluten! I can't wait to go back!

update may 2013: everything including gluten containing baked goods are now made on site. this kitchen is now f'ed, and I feel like I just lost an 8 year friendship. this was my only safe spot in the east bay for years. I'm so sad. March 2013: once upon a time, cafe gratitude in Berkeley segregated the one gluten item in the kitchen to a dedicated cutting board. this was the one place in the east bay besides pf changs where I felt safe. now that the cafes operate more independently, contaminated tortillas and lax kitchen practices are making people sick. and, the staff is nothing like it used to be. I trust Matt's location in Santa Cruz, and I'm not coming back to the Berkeley location.

This place is great if you are celiac. It is not a dedicated kitchen but they are extremely knowledgeable and once my husband told them he was celiac the manager came over to discuss everything. The fryer only fries gluten free items and as long as you tell them you’re celiac they will wipe down the equipment between use. No issues here and great food!!

Excellent service, awesome food, great atmosphere. Highly recommend. They have a book of knowledge listing all allergens in their food if you ask.

Their menu is predominately gluten free - only three items on the menu contained gluten that night. They took the fact that I’m a celiac very seriously and made me feel very comfortable. Added bonus - all of the desserts were gluten free too!

Great food, the majority is gluten free. Rather than listing what is gluten free they list what isn’t. Service was also fantastic

Great and knowledgable staff and amazing food!! I had the polenta and oh my gosh! My husband does not like vegetarian/vegan food and he even loved his eggplant panini (not gluten free). Would definitely go back here again. I have celiac and had no reaction.

Hands down best gf veggie burger I've ever had!! So much flavor. Went back again and again lunch and dinner is so delicious and flavorful. Loved the honey sesame chocolate squares and raw vegan key lime pie. Mint chocolate chip smoothie shake was super yummy.

Amazing Vegan restaurant. Only two items on menu had gluten. They were clearly marked. I typically don't eat vegan but I loved the food.

This caters more to veganism but there are definitely GF options. Similar to Gracias Madre though (which they own), if you're veganism isn't what you're really going for then you can get similar Mexican dishes at a cheaper price elsewhere. However, they do serve up pretty delicious looking quinoa bowls, who h you can't get at most places. Moreover, their shakes are awesome.
