Stopped into this place on my visit to the shrine and was very impressed to see they had good options. When I was there they had GF carrot cake, brownies, and lemon/raspberry roulade. I had the roulade which was a rolled up cake with whipped cream and it was very tasty. I’m only gluten-intolerant so I can’t speak on cross contamination or anything along those lines, but I did not get sick.
They also have gluten free toast for sandwiches and bread. On my visit it was breakfast time (I got the dessert to go for later) and I had eggs and toast. Unfortunately they did not toast my toast, so it was really just bread and since I had poached eggs this was a disappointment because I had to eat the eggs off soggy toast. I suspect they don’t have a dedicated gluten free toaster and did not want to risk contamination—- which I appreciate—- but I really would have preferred the bread toasted.
Anyway, if you visit the shrine you should check this place out, especially since there are not a ton of gluten free options around it!
