This is a little place tucked off of Alhambra Blvd, hard to see from the street. It used to be one of my pre-GF haunts, and thought I'd give them a try as Mediterranean/Middle Eastern food has always been a favorite, and a lot of it is naturally GF. Sometimes with any kind of ethnic restaurant, the language barrier can be a challenge in explaining your needs. The server here was absolutely phenomenal, and explicitly understood what gluten is. They offered to change out the tabouli salad for the Greek salad. The server even offered to plate the accompanying pita bread on my son's plate separately so I could try his, too (how thoughtful!). I had a house favorite "chicken Sumac" and it was above reproach. My son had his favorite "Kefka kebab" (also GF) and he loved it, too. The Moroccan mint tea is sublime and goes well with their desserts. My son had his favorite Greek style baklava, but they had an additional kind as well. The Greek style is made by scratch, in-house and he was happy with it. (sadly, this is not GF, but your companions may enjoy). They got us in and out when they knew we were trying to make a movie, leftovers were wrapped for us (I love that!) Oh! And I love hummus, and they were more than happy to sub pita bread for some thin cucumber slices. Even though there is no dedicated GF menu or cooking area, the nature of the cuisine, and staff knowledge was impressive, and I had zero adverse reactions. I highly recomend this place. It's my #2 spot for ME cuisine in Sacramento.
