After reading a review on this app I visited Cafè Velvet. That was a mixed experience.
First of all I’d like to say; they DO in fact have gluten-free bread. So you should visit them if you want to.
When that is said there was some issues on the way. At first the waitress said that they did NOT have gluten-free bread. After convincing her, that I went there because of a review on this app, she asked the chef who confirmed that they do in fact have gluten-free burger buns.
So… We got a table, but when I ordered a gluten-free burger, the next waitress said, that they didn’t have gluten-free bread.
After discussing it for a while it turned out that they really have gluten-free buns.
I actually got a gluten-free burger. It was actually quite good. So all in one they really do have gluten-free buns, but the waitresses does not know about it. So the staff isn’t informed about it. You have to keep asking.
Also the fries is made in frying oil with gluten-containing ingredients, so I got a salad instead of the fries cause I’m celiac and I get really sick if I get gluten. But I had to discuss it with the waitress for a while to get the salad instead. It would have been nice if it was it such a problem to get gluten-free alternatives. I had to keep asking for gluten-free options instead of the fries - and after a while I ended up just offering to skip the fries (and get a discount on the menu since I couldn’t eat half of it) but they ended up making me a salad instead. And the salad was actually quite good.
All in one a very confusing experience. Especially because non of the waitresses were informed about the gluten-free options on the menu.
but in the end the food was actually fine. Just ask when you get there.
