I really wanted it to be ok. I called first to ask if they could accommodate a celiac. The girl said oh sure. I just had a celiac group in and they had a great dinner. I went in and the menu was very limited. I went with a steak dish and some potatoes, the steak came out well after the rest of the meals at our tables and the potatoes didn't arrive before we were ready to go. I really wanted to be typing a good review because Willimantic is really lacking for a celiac safe dining

We love Cafemantic, now Stone Row, and eat there any chance we get. Many items on the menu are gluten-free or can be ordered gluten-free. We even called ahead 48hrs in advance to have lamb meatballs made with gluten-free bread crumbs, which were amazing! Our most recent experience we made a note in our reservation that it was our anniversary and they surprised us with Prosecco and a note wishing us a Happy Anniversary! Every visit we’ve had high quality service, scrumptious food, and lovely atmosphere (I especially love sitting on the patio). I highly recommend Stone Row to any foodies, especially non-vegetarians, their vegetables are amazing, but there are not a lot of mains without animal protein.
Tip: Be open and honest about your dietary needs in advance or as soon as you arrive, and go with folks who enjoy sharing - that’s the most fun.

Unfortunately I will not be going back. My food was served on a plate with a cut up USED menu under the bowl holding the side dish. It was on the same plate as my sandwich and close enough to touch my food. I thought about it half way through my sandwich and stopped the waitress to ask if they were used or new menus. When she said used I spit my food back on my plate and said that’s disgusting! That is cross contamination for possible gluten and also whatever nastiness 💩 people were touching when they looked at the menu. I said you literally served me poop and gluten. After speaking to the manager he was like OMG we never thought of that and I said well now you know you probably ate someone else’s 💩. I went right out to my car and called the health department. I cannot believe someone would be so stupid. It would have been cute if it was a new menu that they used on the plate but since it wasn’t I can’t trust that they will be any safer in the future.

I went last night for dinner for the first time! Many options on the menu are gf or can be if they serve it with gf bread (like the mussels we got). It's really just the items made with soy sauce that you can't eat. Great atmosphere, small plate style so we shared a bunch of things, and great drinks! Worth a stop
This is one of my favorite places to eat. It is a delight for the pallet and they keep it real by using FRESH, LOCAL ingredients produced by local farmers! If you want to eat great food and support local economy this is the place to go!
On one hand, the food is good and it's pretty much the only option in Willimantic. On the other hand...$10 for a tiny sandwich?! Their $2.50 surcharge for gluten-free bread is way above what anyone else charges. But again, if you're in the area, this is it. At least it's a tasty rip-off.
