I tried this place for the first time abut a week ago, I talked with my waitor about the severity of my celiac disease and he assured me that he will make notes and that everything will be made on a freshly cleaned grill, I was very relived. When my omelet with gf toast came out I double checked that everything was made without cross contamination, he assured me again and seemed to be getting annoyed. I have been extremely sick for about a week now. Called this place and they told me that the store slice and toast their gluten free bread with regular bread, very frustrating experience!
I have always loved going here, good food and some tasty gluten free labeled options. Caution though - do not order the gluten free bread as a side. The waitress informed me that while the bread is gluten free, it is cooked in the same toaster as normal bread. If you avoid the bread, it is wonderful. Helpful that the staff informed me. Just mention you are celiac.
UNSAFE for celiac. The food is amazing if you’re just on a diet. I had reactions time and time again eating there and didn’t know why. The staff didn’t think to inform me that they slice their gf bread on the same slicer as the regular bread.. without cleaning in between! (Yes I’m that sensitive.) and the cooks didn’t realize it’s not okay to use the same sandwich spread either. Either ignorance or complete disregard for cross-contamination precautions. This is the same for both of their locations.
So many gluten free options but the bread was the worst gf bread I've had, tasteless, mushy and fell apart. My daughter and I reacted to something in the bread which we never have before. And for all that they didn't adjust our bill, which was very expensive.
The food was excellent. I had the Washington Turkey Sandwich and my son had the Kids Cheese Burger. Neither of us had any issues afterwards. The service wasn't great (a bit cranky), but I can live with that if the food doesn't make me sick.
Never thought I could have clam chowder again. So yummy! So many other GF options. I recommend if traveling through
Excellent Food! We have not had this many choices eating out since we have been gluten free! I wish I didn't live 3 hours away!
Very good food! Many GF options. They not only have GF bread for sandwiches but serve GF bread with soups. Usually have 2 or 3 GF soups every day. Breakfasts are fabulous but come with your patience because it's a very popular place! Can purchase GF breads to take home. I recommend the Whole Grain GF. It tastes like a rye bread and doesn't fall apart when you slice it.
Ate here while waiting for a ferry to Orcas. Found out once we sat down that they have an in-house bakery. Yikes. I didn’t have any other options, so stayed. Waitress suggested one of the hash bowls for least chance of cross contamination. Got the potatoes rancheros and it was very yummy and no ill effects. A little hesitant to recommend to celiacs, but they do seem to be aware of what needs to be done to limit cc.
I ate here twice in 4 day period! Great meals, clean and safe for celiacs!! The Italian scrambled eggs with lots of potatoes was delicious and filling! Lunch had the clam chowder with sautéed onions and potatoes and generous amt of clams was delicious!! I had a gf toasted bread club layered with Turkey and bacon! Outstanding! Bought 4 giant gf cookies, gingerbread and snickerdoodles! Scrumptious!!!
