Waiter noted burritos, quesadillas, and another set of items were not GF because of flour tortillas but the corn tortillas were okay. He didn't seem too keen or interested in wanting to review my celiac card or some of the questions I had about other menu items. In terms of vegetarian, there is pretty much nothing on the menu, so he made some grilled vegetable tacos with corn tortillas. They were probably safe, though definitely not very exciting. My partner (not gf) had burrito which was apparently a bit weird and creamy without rice or beans.

Great atmosphere in this little place! It was easier for the server to point out what was not safe (which was only a few items) on the extensive menu. We had the beef tacos and margaritas, which were both delicious. Super friendly service. Cash only. Will be going back again this week.

Two people of our party of four are celiac. The owner and waiter were both very knowledgeable about what could and could not be served. The frying oil is changed with each table so those with celiac have the option for fried foods. The food was excellent and we wished we ate there more this trip.

I went here because of its proximity to the beach and the recent reviews. They’re all 100% correct. The owner is extremely knowledgeable and could tell me exactly what I could and what I couldn’t have with celiac disease. It doesn’t look like the typical place you would go to when you walk by, but the quality of the food, the little worry I had to even share a bunch of dishes and the friendliness of the owner makes me want to come back at least once more!

Really good food. Lots of choice and the owner was patient with us taking ages to choose! He was very confident about what I could or couldn't have (one 1 thing we could have) which put me at rest. Don't miss this place!

We saw Calypso’s rated high on this app, and decided to give it a go. It’s a small place, outdoor tables, and it might Be a place you’d pass by. My suggestion is don’t miss it! This place is a diamond in the rough. Finding a safe place to eat with good food, reasonably priced, and clean is sometimes tough with food intolerances. We loved it here! The owner is upbeat, helpful, and just that person everyone loves instantly. The food was fresh, delicious, and generous. The owner was very good about making sure it was gluten, and dairy free. We felt comfortable after speaking with him, and we really enjoyed our experience. We went back a 2nd time, and will likely hit it a third before we leave Mexico. I was pleasantly surprised at how affordable it was, how fresh the food tasted, and he made the best drinks we have had since we came to Cancun. We really enjoyed the whole experience here! Come as a stranger, leave as a friend!

Came at noon (time at which they open), so they cook my food first. The owner knew exactly what needed to be done. I get instantly sick, and not halfway either. This place was perfect for me. Highly recommend it. It is a hole in the wall place. Very authentic food. Happy that the previous reviews took us there.

Hands down the best (and least expensive) food we had during our week in Cancun. This is a true local, authentic Mexican restaurant that is family owned. The owner himself came and took our order and was happy to accommodate my allergy. Informed us the corn chips were gluten free and fried in separate oil. The Carne asada arachera tacos were incredible. Our entire dinner with mojitos as well was only $30.

Great food in an area where all the food is terrible, expensive, Americanized rubbish. Most of the menu is inherently gf except for the obvious. They had corn tortillas and chips, and had copious amounts of grilled seafood. The owner speaks English but it definitely seems more of a local place and not a touristy place. Great find.
