I ordered pancakes, got a waffle. Ok, no big deal, I was hungry. $11 for a single waffle with fruit on top. Fruit was peaches, canned peaches dumped on top. I could not cut the waffle with a fork... took a knife as it was so chewy. My jaw hurts now from eating this waffle. It filled a void in my stomach and that is it, don’t expect much. I don’t get the numerous positive reviews..
There’s a huge sign out front saying “gluten free menu.” That’s when you feel safe coming in and entrusting them your digestive tract. Tons of gluten choices for the others in our party. Everyone was happy. Friendly service. The pancakes and waffles tasted just like I remember in my glutenous childhood. My son said it tasted the same as his gluten pancake. Highly Recommend.
This is our first time ever eating at this restaurant. We were a party of four. Two of us have to eat gluten free, we both ordered the banana pancakes and we were blown away at how much food we received. The pancakes were very flavorful and dense. We will definitely return. Our spouses had regular and pecan pancakes and they were satisfied.
They had a separate section on the menu with their gluten free options. I ordered chocolate chip pancakes and scrambled eggs. The waitress assured me she would write down allergy and tell the cook. The pancakes were maybe the best I’ve ever had. So good!! Would definitely come back.
We ate here twice on our trip. The manager and head waitress are very knowledgeable about cross contamination and preparation. Our first experience was underwhelming with a poor staff experience but upon returning it was fantastic. My daughter enjoyed her GF chocolate chip pancakes very much
Ok, I know needing GF can sometimes set the bar low, but I didn’t find this place to be very good. I had the waffle and it was dry and cold. The service was extremely slow! There was no real attention as to whether it was cooked on a separate grill. Overall this won’t be a place a come back too.
I love this restaurant; I was able to order gluten free waffles for the very first time in over four years! They were crispy, full if flavor, served hot and I ate every morsel! The staff is friendly; we met the owner; all of them were GF knowledgeable; that was a first! This is our “go to” restaurant for breakfast! Love it!
Ate here 3 times while on vacation. Enjoyed both the waffle and pancakes! My daughter is Celiac and also had scrambled eggs with each meal. Waitresses were knowledgeable and gluten free food came out with toothpick to differentiate. It was so nice being able to go out for breakfast.
The native GF options are good--your standard breakfast protein fare. The GF waffles need some attention, however. They are a wad of gum and not very good. In this day and age, GF mixes are very advanced and smooth. There's no reason to have a gluey product, unless of course you're not the one eating it.
The had a clear GF menu, excellent & attentive service, family friendly. I got the GF waffle. I assumed that it would be some frozen item they kept on hand. It was a giant fresh Belgium style waffle that I could barely finish. Will absolutely return.
Gluten free pancakes were delicious. Our waitress wasn’t as knowledgeable as the one serving the table next to ours. I overheard that waitress telling a customer about the designated fryers, etc. I would have liked to know my options after being told I couldn’t have the sausage but overall it was a good experience and had a specific gluten free menu within the regular menu which I appreciated.
I'll give it 3 stars because I didn't get sick and aside from reading reviews to see if/how many people got glutened going somewhere, I usually take negative opinions with a grain of salt, but I gotta agree with people on the gummy borderline gross of the waffles. They had a sweet flavor, but the texture was thick and gummy and nauseated me and I couldn't even eat half. Tried to ask the waitress when we ordered about anything that could be gf that wasnt in the little box, but to be as slow as they were, she was not interested in answering any questions. $10-12 for a gummy waffle, not worth it. The non-gfers in group didnt care for their waffles or sausage gravy either, so we'll save our $63 and eat cereal at home.
Two of our family members are GF. Both got the GF pancakes and they were okay, but got very gummy over time. My DH said that the ones I make do this too (I don't recall this being the case), but neither had any issues after eating there.
My family went here both Saturday and Sunday for breakfast while on vacation. Saturday was a great experience! Server on top of things, delicious food for everyone. Sunday was an epic disaster: waited half an hour for a table, an hour for food, saw the server who's name tag says she was a manager a handful of times the entire meal. We should have gotten up and left. I spent the afternoon and my drive back home to Wilmington DE sick and uncomfortable because the food we waited forever for was contaminated. Moral: if you have to wait, leave. When they fall behind and the kitchen ends up in the weeds it all goes downhill.
