Caretti's Pizza and Italian Restaurant

Food was yummy, but I got sick afterwards 😕. It seems to be a level of cross contamination. Not safe for celiacs. I ordered the gluten free sub and gf garlic bread. Both were labeled, and I ate half of each. Very uncomfortable with gastro distress.

Ordered the mozzarella sticks, fries and wings. Traveled from Buffalo New York to visit state parks and was able to actually eat fried food for the first time in YEARS. If I return to the area I WILL be back! The mozzarella sticks were my favorite.

This Italian restaurant was fantastic! Neither of my celiac kids got sick. The staff knew what they were talking about. The gf pizza came with its own mini pizza cutter. The gf mozzarella sticks were fabulous.

Rating on GF subs only—- Not celiac friendly. Subs made on same line as regular subs. Used same mayonnaise as regular subs and handled by same workers that had just made regular subs. Would be fine for non celiac customers. Not sure about the pizza or other gluten free items.

We ordered everything gluten free and the owner went above and beyond to ensure our food was not cross contaminated to ensure we had a great experience! He was very knowledgeable in celiac disease and all our food was FANTASTIC! I had gluten free mozzarella sticks for the first time in 10 years and they were well WORTH the wait! Our gluten free lasagna was homemade and AMAZING!!! We even shared an order of gluten free boneless garlic butter wings!!! Totally worth the hour and half drive!

We have been going for years. My son has celiac and has never had an issue. The gluten free pizza, subs, fries, and chicken are great. We drive 30 minutes one way to go about once a month. Great job

This place is safe for celiac patients, but the owner was such a jerk about the rock hard gf sub I ordered, I can't say I will ever go back. Toasting bread to the point that it is concrete, then yelling at the customer about how "we don't serve it soft!" is not a place I can give more that one star. GF or not, I won't be back.

Food was really good! We got gluten free pizza, fries and garlic bread with cheese. They gave us our own pizza cutter for the pizza. We also got regular breadsticks that weren’t gluten free. We will definitely be back! Excellent menu for gluten free and our daughter who has celiac was happy! Highly recommend!

The staff is very helpful and nice! There is much great food to eat here! I have celiac disease and They have a large gluten free menu!! It is one of the best places to eat in Chambersburg!! I had wings and freshly made mozzarella sticks, it was amazing and I am stuffed!! Their prices are also reasonable!! I definitely recommend this place!

Nicest folks who are so well versed in gluten free! Separate fryers and everything!!!I had a sub and French fries. AWESOME!! They now have a new customer. Awesome Gluten free menu!! A dream come true!! From mozzarella sticks to pizza and all the way to garlic cheese bread!! Staff was very friendly and excite to serve gluten free and attentive to satisfaction! The chef and two other staff member checked at our table to see if everything was to perfection! Hope to travel through this area again!! Also a wrapped personal pizza cutter to avoid cross-contamination. Amazingly they also had flourless chocolate cake. Unfortunately they had ran out of stuffed shells and lasagna but hope try them the best time!!! I’m extremely sensitive and I had not reaction!!

There were so many gluten free options including appetizers, meals, and desserts. The staff was amazing, friendly, and extremely helpful in explaining gluten free options. To top it all off the food is amazing! You must eat here!!

A must stop if in the area. Staff and owners are both friendly and knowledgeable about Gluten Free needs and precautions. Mozzarella sticks hit the spot. Garlic bread is everything I wanted it to be. Best gluten free bread I've had in all my years of having celiacs. The only way I knew it was truly gf is that it still got crumbly after a while. I has it delivered and it wasn't mushy or anything upon arrival! Ordered the Philly cheesesteak with onions, peppers, and mushrooms and it was amazing and will definitely be back when I pass through. They also offer gf pizza, pasta, sub rolls, garlic bread, mozzarella sticks, french fries, stuffed shells, and lasagna! Their website menu isn't easy to read and it doesn't show gf easily so I called and talked to the owner who was knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful!

Caretti's has become a regular treat for us. Their gf foods are delicious--subs, pizza, pasta, mozzarella sticks. Just as amazing is the care the restaurant takes in keeping everything safe. For instance, the pizza is baked on its own aluminum tray and comes with a plastic (disposable) cutter to avoid cross contamination. Definitely recommend!

Ate here for the first time tonight. AMAZING! Never thought I'd get to eat a cheese steak again, but tonight I did and it was gf and phenomenal! The gf pizza was equally delicious. This will be a regular for us from now on!

We really enjoyed our meal. We ordered gluten free stuffed shells and lasagna with garlic bread. Everything was amazing and the owner, Angelo was extremely knowledgeable about GF preparation and cross contamination prevention. We will definitely eat here again very soon!!!!

Tonight I got a chicken cheesesteak & mozzarella sticks!:) my hubby took me for our anniversary and we found out some great news. It's was sooo great! The sub tasted like the most normal thing I have been able to enjoy! They take great care of you! And have so many options!:) can't wait to go back! It's been over a year since I had a sub. This place rocks! Theres a menu (whiteboard) up at the register every time we come in! Theres a lot of extra effort to be certain that everything is celiac safe, which is very comforting!I've had the gf lasagna, cheese bread, and several pizzas! Always good, and the owners are very friendly and professional. Not one issue ever! PLS MAKE SURE YOU GO TO THIS LOCATION OFF RT 30 near the Walmart; almost went to the other location on Rt 11 which is not the same owners! Luckily I had read all the reviews listed below. Also, the cute disposable gf pizza cutter is useful later to cut cheese or lunchmeat into small strips like a chef salad at home; don't toss them.

Really good pizza crust, perhaps the best gf crust we have had. Our pizza was delivered w a clean pizza cutter in a plastic wrapper to avoid cross contamination, which was very reassuring. While we were there, we also picked up subs on gf rolls for the next day - they were huge and delicious, a rare treat! We didn't have any gluten reactions and hubby and I are both very sensitive. Highly recommended.

This restaurant was amazing! My family was in town visiting and my husband has to have everything gluten free. This family friendly restaurant was owned by a husband and wife and their young daughter who were all very friendly and accommodating. Diners can eat in or take out and there were MULTIPLE options that can be made gluten free- pizza, pasta, subs, and even mozzarella sticks! We highly recommend this restaurant!

Very welcoming and friendly. My daughter thoroughly enjoyed GF sub that she now rarely gets to have because so few places offer a GF sub roll. Wish we lived closer so we could enjoy this nice little place more often!

We loved our stop here!!! We had gluten-free subs and the best gluten-free garlic bread, and the staff were very knowledgeable and friendly! I wished we lived closer, but we'll definitely stop back by the next time we're driving through the area.

Caution: There is another restaurant in this town with the same name, so make sure you use the address listed here when you look for it. We made the mistake of going 20 minutes out of our way to the wrong restaurant first- they apparently do have gf pizza at the other restaurant, but not the many other gf foods that this one offers.
