we walked out of this restaurant. they expected the customer to order spinach or potatoes to replace pasta to make menu items gluten free I no pasta. this is not Italian.
Excellent Chicken Marsala. Got the lunch portion with GF pasta, had to double check the pasta was GF because of the texture. Best we've had in a long time!
I'm giving Carinos three stars because they are trying. but if you are celiac, beware. the gluten free pasta is not cooked and drained in dedicated gluten free pans. cross contamination is a deal killer. they do have a gluten free menu, so there are other choices. ordered Italian chili. it was good, filling, and came with free refills.
I was very impressed. First restaurant I had eaten at since diagnosis of celiac disease a year ago. There is a gluten free menu, and it is NOT just salad. I had a wonderful chicken dish with roast read potatoes and veggies. Tasted amazing. I let my waitress know I had celiac, she relayed to chef and he did an amazing job of providing me a safe dish. I will definitely go back. So happy to have gone to a restaurant and not gotten sick. I highly recommend this restaurant. Btw, I went during slow hours as I felt safer that way. Less anxiety and knowing the staff would have time to accommodate.
Gluten Free is very deceiving. No gluten free pastas. The only things gluten free are some salads and chicken entrees, minus the pasta. No good if you are strict GF or vegetarian.
They have gluten free foods but they use the same pizza paddle to get everything out of oven and I bet use the same water to cook the pasta. Server told me the meatballs are gluten free but not according to their online menu. Also could not provide a gluten free menu. If you have sensitivity like me probably safe but if you are truly celiac I wouldn't risk it.
They don't have gluten free anything. The waitress said they took out their gluten free menu.
I always make sure the wait staff knows that eating gluten free is not a choice but necessity. I have eaten here several times and just no more... The last time I was served croutons in my salad and when they took it back I am pretty sure all they did was pick them off because when I started to eat my new "GF" salad I found several croutons in the bottom. I set that aside knowing I was now going to have a week of stomach cramps. Got my main meal and they were indeed GF noodles but were terribly under cooked and found regular noodles when I got a little ways through the dish and stopped eating all together. I talked to the manager who apologized and brought me a GF brownie. We left everything on the table brownie included and were still charged full price. Every time I have gone there has been an issue. I wait up to a year before trying again hoping that with education they will get better but it is worse every time. This is a favorite for my large family and no one eats there now because of my allergy. Bummer.
Best pasta I've ever had, and it was gluten free! I ordered the Grilled Chicken Bowtie Festival. Our server, David, assured me they could swap out bowtie pasta for gf penne, and make any other changes needed. After checking, they modified the asiago cream sauce as well. It was one of those "Are you sure this is really gluten free?" meals. Also, you can get gf bread (baked pizza crust) to dip in olive oil and roasted garlic for an extra fee of about $5. Obviously, it's not the same as free loaves of fluffy fresh-baked bread, but I appreciate having the option, and David was clear it would be an extra charge. For me, it was worth it. The staff was very friendly and our food was served quickly with no problems at all. We had planned to eat at Olive Garden, but the parking lot was full. I'm glad we chose to try Carino's, aa there was no wait and there are more options than Oilve Garden if you are gluten free.
I’ve eaten here three times in the last year. They have a separate kitchen area and almost any pasta on the menu can be made gluten free. I always make sure I let the waiter know how sensitive I am as a celiac and they seem to go above and beyond to make sure it is gluten free.
We were never offered the gluten free menu another reviewer posted a photo of. I let them know with my son it was an allergy. Waiter was nice but not informed about what was gluten free on the menu. I had a salad taken back because it had croutons. My son’s sausage and noodle dinner was taken back because the sausage might have wheat in it. (After he already ate a little) The gluten free pizza was not that good. The server and the manager were very kind and accommodating but it’s not a great tasting or safe place for gluten free folks.
Menu is not clearly marked on all GF options. I spoke to a manager who gave me confidence that they take good precautions to avoid cross contamination. When ordering, my server had no idea what contained gluten, he was unsure on meatballs and salad dressings and would say “I think” which doesn’t fly with a Celiac so I confirmed with a manager that what I got was safe to consume. (The meatballs do contain bread crumbs so don’t get them). I got the sizzler and it was VERY good, I was nervous that it wasn’t GF, I made my husband taste test against his and he couldn’t tell the difference in the GF noodles, the flavor was outstanding. I wish they had GF bread, even for a small fee, watching everyone else eat fresh bread before the meal was torture.
NOT celiac friendly. The waiter and kitchen were great but their menu is not true GF. I trusted reviews here and their menu and got sick immediately I had to leave my kids with their dad to finish eating so I could be home and be miserable. Later my husband checked the online allergy list and the items they gave me ( Caesar salad no croutons and Alfredo with Pene noodles that were in gf menu) both clearly say contain wheat but “not other gluten” I completely blame management and whoever does the menu, they need to be more aware and educated on what gluten is.
RJ is a very knowledgeable server/manager. You do have to speak with a member of the management team to talk about the available options but this is definitely a great place to eat. I have eaten there at least 4 times from February 2018-March 2018 and have not gotten sick once. They even make a from scratch Alfredo sauce for gluten free. 👍
Ate the gluten free pasta twice. Very good! But even after talking to waitresses each time and making sure that my food would be completely safe, I still got unsafe food. 1st day the kitchen staff brought a full gluten meal, then after eating 3 spoon fulls the waitress noticed it was the wrong pasta and took it from me. The manager came and offered me cake to say sorry... and still charged me full price... 2nd day, I told them what happened the 1st time and they said they would make sure that never happened again. I ate a great tasting meal, and half way through the bowl of pasta... I found 2 gluten noodles! I was so upset, and they just said sorry and felt bad, still chartered me full price, didn’t offer me anything to make it up to me. Later that day I puked for 6 hours. Will never eat there again, even though they have the only gluten free Alfredo I have found. And it’s good. It’s not worth it!
Really good food. Good selection in gluten free menu. Wish they had more options that didn't include pasta edit. unfortunately the second time I went there they screwed my order three times. they included croutons in the salad and bread sticks in the order. I didn't even eat the food afraid they had screwed it also.
Warning! No gluten free menu at this location (unlike others). Waitress clarified they are "gluten friendly" then she goes, "we have a gluten free penne pasta that can be subbed for any of our pasta dishes and that's about it" with an attitude that didn't make me feel too good about not getting glutened... we left.
