We have gone to Carlos O'Kelly's twice now since going GF. The first time was on New Years Eve and even though they were totally packed (a group of 30 put their order in at the same time we did) our meals were excellent. In fact it was so good we decided to go back just last week. However the second time we went the waitress didn't really seem to know much about their gluten free menu. I ordered a Monterrey Torta and when it came out I was SHOCKED! It was over loaded with this nasty cheese sauce. The quality control the second time we went was not good at all. When I came home I was noticing that I was not feeling good at all. My stomach was in so much pain and my daughter who really is the one who has been diagnosed with a sensitivity was sick for 2 days afterwards. She kept telling me her tummy hurt and was extremely fussy. (she's 2). I went online to check out the nutritional information from their website and upon finding nothing on their website I emailed them. While I will say I got a response within 24 hours I was shocked at what it said.
"We are hoping to have a Gluten Free Menu release within the next 3 months and are currently working on making it available to our different locations. Also we do not have nutritional or allergen information available because our chef retired at the end of the year and he was the one who had the calorie count for everything."
They went on to tell me while they look like a large company they are still a small company. I was rather shocked because they have advertised on this website to have had GIG training.

Large GF menu, wish it were online. unfortunately I have a soy and dairy allergy and they cook EVERYTHING in soybean oil. Luckily, there was one dish I could have. Manager was awesome. I would go back!!

Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about gluten issues. Very good service. Food was average. Important note: menu changed as of 9/17/2012 - the shredded beef and the refried pinto beans on the gluten free menu online are no longer gluten free (black beans are still gluten free).
Great service, separate GF menu. Server was aware- ordered the Cantina Chicken Salad. Salad was fresh, great greens mixture and tasty. Chios and salsa are GF

Fantastic food with a gluten free menu! I got the 2 corn enchiladas with pork, fajita veggies and Mexican rice. They had plenty of gf dishes to pick from, I had a hard time picking what to eat 🥰 The staff was knowledgeable, friendly and courteous as well! I will happily eat there again!

Came to this casual and nice sit-down restaurant with a group for dinner during our visit to see the Sandhill crane migration. Good basic Tex-Mex options with good GF availability. Our server was not that knowledgeable about celiac and GF but he immediately realized he was out of his depth and arranged for the expert to come help with our order. GF options are limited but well marked and delicious- we shared the enchiladas (we got one each of bean, chicken and beef - you can order one of each, you have to ask the server!) and the shrimp fajitas. We were initially told the chips are not GF so we avoided them, but the expert later told us they were GF, prepared in a dedicated fryer, so we had some at the end. Did not get sick at all, loved the food, happy to find a reliable GF place in Grand Island!

My daughter who has celiac has eaten from the gluten free menu several times. So far, no problems.

Combined gluten-free and vegetarian menu. Most items with corn tortillas can be made gluten-free. Some sauces are gluten-free. Tortilla chips are listed as gluten-free, but I didn't asked about a dedicated fryer.
