Review of Carmelo's

This place was just okay even for my non celiac friend. They do have a GF menu, I asked the waiter what the best option was and he suggested the GF pizza. I went with his suggestion but it was not that great. It was SO much cheese, I can't eat that much dairy so I had to pull most of the cheese off and the pizza dough was soggy and just alright. Italian is not the best type of cuisine for a celiac and dairy sensitive person obviously. It was not fun to watch my friends eat the ciabatta bread with olive oil and the desert cart was also parked next to our table. Decor is very odd but I thought it could just be great character if the food was excellent but unfortunately it was just sub par. Service is extremely slow. They are trying to have GF options but too expensive for it to just be okay.
