This is a pretty interesting place, I wasn’t sure I was even walking into a restaurant when I went in. It’s very focused on health and organic ingredients so if that’s your thing you’ll love it. Note though that there isn’t really a menu, they have one meal that changes daily which includes a soup a salad and a main dish. So you basically just walk in and pay upfront and then go and grab a tray + whatever dessert add ons you chose. As far as taste goes it was pretty okay, you’re not gonna be over the moon but you’ll be content. I think the best way to describe it is sustenance.
I inquired and they do NOT use gluten free oats. They use conventionally grown organic oats. Unfortunately I found out after eating a lovely dessert. I got glutened even though they claim to be a dedicated facility. Yes, their food is gluten free for those who avoid gluten, but their oat dishes are not safe for those who have to eat gluten free due to celiac or wheat allergy.
Gluten free and vegan and so delicious! $14 for salad, soup and a huge plate of good food for dinner- oh and the purest water in Austin and great hot and cold tea with amazing health benefits. Self serve drinks, soups and salads and they will serve you the entree, which is chosen by restaurant. It will appeal to your inner hippie.
Gluten free, vegan, and delicious! The environment is chill and delicious. I feel so healthy and relaxed.
You cannot go wrong here. Everything is prepared fresh and pure. I even bought their cookbook to try their tried and true recipies at home. Plus it's so fun to eat here. It's like summer camp. Makes for a great date place and kid friendly with a nice play area.
Everything is GF and vegan. Wonderful, healthy food in a warm, friendly environment.
Casa de Luz is such a gem. Everything is GF and vegetarian (maybe even vegan? Not sure). I love coming here because I know whatever they are serving will be tasty, healthy, and completely gluten free.
Food vast majority of time gluten free, vegan and macrobiotic. Desserts too. I eat there about twice a month and have never seen anything with gluten. Really peaceful atmosphere too.
