GF menu is extremely limited. No meat is GF. Veggies are GF so great if you like veggies. I had a basic salad that was very tasty (the dressing was awesome). Chips and salsa and guac are GF. Awesome spot right on the riverwalk.

Separate gluten free/vegetarian menu! Server was knowledgeable about gf options and accommodated well. Right on the Riverwalk with a nice view. I had the chicken fajitas with corn tortillas. I also had the chips, queso, and salsa. The food was great! I am Celiac and had no issues.

I ordered a tamale and floueta combo plate with rice and beans. Worked well to avoid wheat. Menu had corn shells for my husband's enchilada, too, which I rarely see. As far as Mexican food it was pretty good but didn't wow me exactly. The fresh salsa was awesome, however.

The GF menu is no longer current. When my waiter came to me he said nothing on there is correct which made me nervous. He basically told me one meal to eat which was a chicken breast with rice and beans and the sauce was made with corn starch. I was nervous to eat. Also got the chips and salsa and a margarita. In the end I did not get sick. But only had 1 option per waiter. I asked about the shrimp tacos with a corn tortilla and he said they make the corn tortilla with a little bit of flour. Who would have guessed!

I really want to give this place more stars, however I was glutened after eating here. There are very few options for gluten free food on the menu. The waitress was super nice I just don’t think there’s enough education to staff members about celiac disease.

Long wait time to get a table. The server didn’t understand gluten very much at all. There were six items on the gluten sensitive menu. I chose the mini flautas. My husband only had soup (not gf). It took a long time. The portions were small and my food was burnt. We won’t ever come back here again. I should have trusted the other reviews.

They have a gluten sensitive menu, not gluten free. Our experience was incredibly disappointing. The chips are NOT safe because they fry everything in one fryer. I ordered a mahi mahi taco plate with a corn tortilla, and it should have come with poblano sauce (special menu said this sauce was ok). What i received was two corn tortillas with literally one small piece of fish on each, and burracho beans. The manager insisted the pablano sauce was not ok, despite what the menu said. They also told me the beans were ok, in spite of the menu saying they were not (I didn’t eat them). They brought me some shredded cheese so I could eat the tacos and did comp us some of what I paid but overall, not a good choice! I would not go back here or recommend it.

Just ate here last night. Got very sick. They claimed the enchiladas were gluten-free as well as the meat. Was throwing up throughout the night. Not a safe place to eat.

Not celiac friendly. Gluten free menu tells you what you can't have. Wait staff not helpful, they don't care about you.

The gluten free menu was more like a gluten allergy notice. Said the corn tortillas were gluten free but fried in the same fryer as flour. The notice said that three sauces had flour. So I ordered enchiladas with sauces that were not marked as containing flour. Waiter ended up coming back and telling me they could only do the salads gluten free.

I asked for a GF menu and was ignored. I had the grilled fish tacos on corn tortillas (asked for corn) and was OK---they were passably good. ate the beans too.

Three items on menu: taco salad with no shell, plain grilled chicken breast or a grilled steak. No chips or shells allowed due to cross contamination in fryer. Our waiter was quite informed and eager ask cook staff for details. He was awesome, but not a good option for GF. Note: taco salad was very good, disappointed in selection.

Came here for Valentine's dinner with the hubby. The GF menu has very few options. My waiter assured me that the chips and salsa brought to the table are safe as well as the queso we ordered, and I had the GF taco salad with steak. The kitchen forgot the Mexican rice for my date's meal and the cheese for my salad. A quarter of the way through the taco salad it became clear that I'd been contaminated. Two thumbs down for Casa Rio.

There are only three items on the gluten free menu, but the food is pretty good. I had the taco salad with chicken. Pay attention to the info on the bottom of the menu - corn chips at table contain some flour as do some sauces.
