This was the best GF bakery I have ever been to. It is out of the tourist path but completely worth the trip. We had the pastel de nata, the croissant, the chicken empada which is like a chicken pie and a bread filled with cheese. Everything was amazing and the bread was fluffy and light.

Amazing bakery. Certified GF and everything is lactose free as well. The red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting was the best GF cake I have ever had. The lemon tart and small chocolate chip cookies were also very, very good. The pasteis de nata was my least favourite, as the pastry crust was not crisp or flaky (but the filling was okay). The owner is lovely and obviously passionate about what she does. The bakery is located in Vila Nova de Gaia and is not in the main tourist area in. I took an Uber there for approximately 9 euros one way.

Excellent pasteis de nata, beautiful loaves of bread! Totally worth the detour, we used scooters to get there from the Gaia waterfront and we’re absolutely thrilled.
