I am Gluten free and we were on our way to Georgia we had the platter. It had a little of everything. I came for Burnt ends, they were amazing. Nolan was so great. A manager came out to check our experience. Good Barbeque, great service well worth the stop but GPS directions will drive you to drink.

Stopped in here for dinner and was pleasantly surprised to find 2 different types of GF beer on the menu which had a GF section. I got Yoga Pants since I never heard of it before and enjoyed it so much I had another.
I ordered a sandwich on a GF bun and a few minutes later the waitress came out to tell me they were out of GF buns. Then about 3 mins after that a different server came out with the sandwich I ordered but not on a GF bun and put it in front of me. My waitress came over and took it away and I ordered the Charred Bits & Grits. My waitress even said "I will be sure to put this in gluten free for you"
Food tasted okay, but not great (KC bbq is overrated in my opinion), but within an hour I started getting very hot and I knew what was coming next. I got very sick that night. I assume it was the kitchen that messed something up and not the beer. I was really looking forward to this meal and enjoyed the vibe of this restaurant, but would never go back again.

Full separate gluten free menu to review with lots of options! Also a whole gluten free beer and cider menu which is very rare.
I ordered the salmon and quinoa salad with a side of potato salad. I told her I was celiac and she made sure to put a special note on the ticket. Very sweet server and accommodating.

I ate here a few times and it was great however on a Lunch one day I was served a platter with toast. I had good experience with being GF there however I guess that waitress didn't want to deal with me. 3 minutes later I get a new platter with no toast. I couldn't trust it. Be careful here.

Many choices on their gf menu. We tried the Bits and Grits appetizer. Yum. I tried the pork butt sandwich. They have a gf bun covered in sesame seeds and poppy seeds. I’m allergic to sesame so I didn’t eat it, but my husband tried a bite of the bun and said it was tasty. They also said their bbq sauces are gf.
Yes
I’ve eaten here many times without an issue. Had the cbgb burger today on the gf bun and it was great! With some broccoli bacon slaw! So good! I’ve also had the holy trinity and a few salads plus some brunch items on Sunday. Good place!

We ate at Char Bar last night. We had one person that needed to order off of the GF menu. All of the food was delicious, but unfortunately there must have been some cross-contamination in the kitchen. Several hours after we finished our meal, our GF person was quite ill. She has been GF for many years, so she is always certain when she consumes gluten. This was her first time eating at Char Bar, so we do not have any other experiences with GF at Char Bar. Hopefully they can be more cautious and truly serve GF options.

Other people have said it and I have to agree that the GF bun here is absolutely amazing. Char Bar has a pretty decent sized menu for gluten free options and although they do not have dedicated kitchen space they tell me they follow a three step process to avoid contamination :) the staff was super nice and knowledgeable
Excellent food, very knowledgeable staff. great GF bun.
Staff was very knowledgeable. Reminded it is not a gf kitchen and their fryers are shared. So long as you follow their guidance, it should be a great meal. Their gf bun is locally made and delicious.

Can we discuss how delicious their buns are? They're amazing. Tons of gf choices.
One of the very few restaurants that I've never had a reaction at!
Great gluten free menu. All meat and sauce gluten free. Excellent gluten free bun. They were all very knowledgable and even replaced a gf bun for the bread on my meat platter. Great place to eat in KC!
Wow!!🤓🤓😀😀 What an amazing experience! I had the Holy Trinity it was delicious. The Kale Slaw so good! Actually everything is just fantastic! From the time you walk into the until you walk out! It is a must! 🤓

First off the atmosphere is fantastic! Huge space including a gorgeous outside with tons of games! They have dedicated gf menu and on weekends till 3pm a gf brunch menu. Our waitress was very helpful and understanding! We ordered the holy trinity which was fantastic!! The burnt end heaven sandwich was literally heaven! Sausage layered in burnt ends and slaw and the local gf made bun was warm, soft and simply delicious! Cheese corn, beans & kale slaw were also pretty tasty! We spoke with the GM and I cannot say enough good things about this place! Celiac safe 100%

Second time eating here. Simply fabulous gluten free food. The gluten free bun is not the typical Udi's bun I am so sick of. I believe the buns are made locally. The environment here is great. They have cornhole and horseshoes among other things in the backyard. Best gluten free experience I have ever had eating out. This is my favorite place to eat. Give the burnt ends a shot, you won't regret it.
