I’m fairly sure I (celiac) got glutened at Charlie Brown’s. My wife and I were visiting the area to see family, who recommended the restaurant. The reviews on Yelp seemed fairly good, and we were encouraged by the fact that they have a GF menu. Unfortunately, the scene in the restaurant was different. Our server did not know what celiac disease was. We asked if we could speak to the chef, but were informed that the chef was too busy to come to the table (understandable). The manager came instead, and said that she did not think there was much food food would be safe for a celiac. She recommended against most of the items on the GF menu. In the end I went with a New York strip (cooked in a pan) and a baked potato (cooked in foil). I didn’t get a vegetable as it seemed too risky. I did have a reaction, joint pain a couple days later, which is my typical response to exposure. It’s a nice restaurant, but I wouldn’t go again for concerns about safety.
