Underwhelming flavor wise.
I’ve had the Pad Thai twice and the pumpkin curry, with soft tofu in both, and thankfully no reactions, after given GF instructions. I find the meals to be lack luster and disappointing.
The curry was very thin / watery and although ordered “mild” the heat overpowered any potential pumpkin flavor. I ordered a side of veggies for the curry as it originally came with meat. The majority of the veggies was cabbage.
The Pad Thai is surprisingly on the sweet side, which has never been my experience at other Thai restaurants. I thought it was a fluke so I ordered it a second time and had the same experience. It’s not bad, just different.
The staff are hardworking and the restaurant has high reviews but my husband and I continue to be underwhelmed by their food that we probably won’t go back.
I have ordered takeout every few months or so for many years and eat in person occasionally. I have generally restricted my orders to things like curries (red or penang) and soups (Tom Kha / Tom Yum) and have never had a reaction.
However I recently learned they can make a lot of things gluten free if you ask about it. Including drunken noodles and pad thai. In my experience so far they are clear about what they can’t make gluten free. They use a different sauce as the base to build a gf dish when you ask for that. Their online menu does not have any allergen labeling, but a paper menu in the restaurant has some (limited, but encouraging to see) labeling.
They have an excellent lunch special on weekdays. You can get some soup, an entree, and a beverage for about $14 before tax and tip.
First time I had vegan and GF paid Thai in years. I asked about gluten free options and the waitress knew what to do mentioned cooking in separate wok. Felt good to enjoy a meal and 24hrs not feel sick. Can’t guarantee 100% cross contamination free but they seem to make an effort to accommodate celiacs.
