Review of Checkers Bistro

While they do not have a gluten free menu, there was plenty for me to choose from that either was or could be made gluten free. The server was knowledgeable about the menu and was able to tell me what I could and could not have. I was pleasantly surprised to be served gluten free bread after I ordered, which was nothing special, but when you are used to no bread at most restaurants, I was happy to take it. It went well with my crouton-less ceasar salad. My entree (the seared diver scallops with truffled creamed leeks and port wine reduction) will go down as one of the best meals I have ever eaten! The meal was not cheap, however it was worth every penny! The atmosphere was lovely, the staff friendly, there was a nice selection of interesting wine and the bathroom was so nice that they had individual cotton rolled hand towels for you to dry your hands with! Honestly, I can't say enough good things about my experience there! I will definitely be going back!!
