I ordered the Mac and payed extra for gluten free thinking they had a fully GF option with GF noodles. I was greeted by the Australian guy at the cash register so rudely when he told me he was WITNESSED me buy and pickup this sandwich (knowing I had celiac) and decided now is the time to let me know that in fact it is not fully gluten free even tho it is advertised as such. He proceeeded to talk down to me about how I should “know better” when, if I select the GF option for more money, I am expecting the dish to be FULLY GF. AVOID AT ALL COSTS IF YOU HAVE CELIAC!!!

Great place, but absolutely not celiac friendly. What are those reviewers talking about???
Despite what others have said I trust the process. The server did have to check if there was GF bread in stock so maybe call ahead if you’re hell bent on a grilled cheese. They stated they use foil and make sure an “allergy” is noted in the ticket. I felt fine the next day.
All that being said, the grilled cheese was f-ing delicious.

Giving it 3 stars for honesty. I asked if there were gluten free options and the manager told me that while they have gluten free toast, there is significant chance of cross contamination and so if you have any allergy or celiac disease then he wouldn't recommend eating there. That being said, my gluten friends love cheesies!

My boyfriend has celiac disease and we've eaten at the Evanston location several times. He has never had any issues and the food is amazing. He can get majority of the sandwiches but the sides are all cooked in the same fryer. overall, this is a safe place for anyone who has celiac or a gluten allergy! The food is absolutely delicious

I did not visit this location...I visited Wicker Park. They said sometimes have and sometimes do not have gf bread. In addition they were not knowledgeable about gf ingredients in the sandwiches either. Ended up with a salad and praying 😳

I was so impressed by Cheesie's! When I requested GF bread, the man at the counter asked if I had Celiac. He marked it in the computer and also went back and told the kitchen staff. My sandwich was delicious. I thought $12.75 was steep for a sandwich and drink, but it was actually 2 full GF sandwiches. I will definitely be going back.
