What is worse than being glutened? Being glutened before a flight! The airport had advertisements about getting your “gluten free fix!” and this was one of the options, they had one option on the menu, chicken shawarma. My partner and I were the only ones in the restaurant so even after explaining celiac and how cross contamination affects me the waitress yes-ed me. My first red flag should have been that she asked if rice was gluten free???? She also forgot my drink… and I got sick. And it’s all overpriced airport food. Save yourself and just go to the hudson shops they have all over the place and get snacks.

How would you rate the taste and quality of the gluten-free food you tried?

— Poor

Despite being the only people in the restaurant, and supposedly the supervisor overseeing the cooking of our food we still ended up getting poisoned from their ONE GF option, chicken shawarma. Considering this is one of 3 advertised GF options in the whole of Dulles international, you’re better off grabbing something at one of the shops that’s pre-packaged.
