I want to cry…
My daughter is celiac and just got gluten at Chen Yang Li Restaurant on an item that was marked gluten free. I didn’t notice until she was done that it had imitation crab in it. I assumed it was real crab, since it was marked GF.
What really gets me upset is when I asked the manager about it he said it had so little gluten in it it won’t cause her problems. He was so dismissive. I asked if that’s what he’d say to someone with a peanut allergy, who just ingested peanuts. The owner rolled her eyes at me. Yes, it’s my responsibility to look carefully. And yes I know it’s not a certified gf restaurant. It’s their response that really hurts.
— Not at all
— Gluten-free items are marked on the main menu
