Cheri Bibi is a typical French Brasserie. And their staple is burgers. Now I know that by looking at this menu, it shows that all the burgers contain gluten but my question to the server was: if I have just the steak haché without the bun, then will that be okay? Is the steak haché sans gluten? And here is where we ran into trouble, because apparently I couldn't have the burger without the bun. (?!) She said that it just wasn't possible! In different circumstances, I thought that perhaps my poor french had led to a misunderstanding but I actually had two french friends with me who asked her and she repeated: the chef will not serve the burger without the bun. Hahahaha! Absolutely wild! Oh, to be at the mercy of a French waiter! So, I ended up going for the chorizo and peppers omlette. It was alright, but it wasn't a burger and chips like everyone else around me. Talk about food envy!
