*CROSS CONTAMINATION*
Things are marked GF on the menu, or marked that they can be made gluten free by substituting bread. First they told me the sweet potato fries are gluten free, but when I asked, I learned they’re fried in the same fryer. I ordered a gluten free sandwich, but when it came out they had put mini cinnamon rolls (gluten) on the plate touching my sandwich. I sent it back and informed them of cross contamination, at which point they checked with the kitchen and said they couldn’t do anything to make it safe, as it’s cooked on the same surface, and the GF bread is even dipped in the same batter as the standard French toast.
I ended up eating grits and fruit, both safe and absolutely delicious! They also comped my meal, so I give the restaurant credit for good service. Just not safe for Celiac’s!
