Circa was delicious; the staff was knowledgeable and attentive; the separate, GF menu was chock full of options. We had the brussels app, and I had the blackened chicken mango salad. I will do my best to recreate it at home—great flavor combos. (My husband had the ravioli on the seasonal menu and described its deliciousness in detail for me.)
When we return to DC, we will definitely be coming back.
Great variety of gf options and they have a dedicated gf menu. I ordered the gf kale salad with steak, and while it seemed they were out of kale and substituted it with regular lettuce, it was still delicious. They had several mocktail options in addition to standard wines and cocktails. The only dessert option was ice cream, so I passed on dessert.
Went with my family who do not need to eat gluten free - they were all happy with their meals, as was I. I had the blackened chicken mango salad, very tasty and felt fine after. Circa has a separate “gluten sensitive” menu. We were there in April so could be seasonal, not sure.
We had the hummus, and it was amazing. It had cauliflower or wagyu beef- so we got both on it (served with carrots and celery). Brussel sprouts in a balsamic sauce with blue cheese was incredible. Rainbow trout in a lemon butter sauce on a pea purée with roasted asparagus was sublime. These were all from the gluten free menu.
The host and our first server were very good and knowledgeable about celiac needs. The second server (changed due to a shift change) was not knowledgeable or trained.
The GF menu has several good options that are made differently from the same items on the regular menu. Chicken wings were grilled vs. fried and were tasty. The food is good, but the service is not consistent.
Came here with one celiac (me), a tree nut/sesame/egg allergy person, and a pescatarian. There were options for everyone (minus dessert for the allergy person). Our server was knowledgeable and accommodating, checking in with the kitchen multiple times. They were clearly on top of managing cross-contamination, and I felt great after the meal. Only negative — it would have been nice to have the option of a GF bun and “safe” fries.
We were staying near this restaurant and skipped it because it wasn’t in the app. Finally stopped in to ask and made a reservation. They have an entire separate GF menu, the food was AMAZING, the server was wonderful, and I didn’t get sick. Wish we could come here a few more times!
