My sincere apologies to the diner who naturally expected City Diner to provide gluten-free menu options after seeing us listed on this site. I own City Diner. I DID NOT request City Diner to be listed on ANY gluten-free website. I found out from my staff that an unhappy diner informed her we were on your site. While we have good informed staff (as another review states) I am unable to guarantee that our 24/7 staff can properly address food health/allergy issues, so I choose not to risk our guests health by representing our diner as gluten-free. Thank you.

I'm not sure how this place got on this list, because there is no GF menu, and the waitress told me that she knows it's described as GF online, but that she doesn't know what gluten is and that there's nothing GF on the menu. Which was probably true, because I ordered grits and then had a reaction in the restaurant. Not friendly folks. & not a GF restaurant, at all. Steer clear.

My husband is the Celiac of the family & is always scared to eat at a new place. He doesn't like explaining why he can't have this or that & asking questions but he did at City Diner & both times we are there both waitresses knew what gluten was & were able to answer questions honestly & even had the cook come out & read an ingredient list!! First time he's been able to order something fried & it be totally GF!! Even the oysters were cooked in Zatarains fish fry. We were told they even have a seperate fryer for French fries. The food is so delicious & fresh! Staff was amazing!!!!
