Review of City Market Onion River Co-op

This is the 2nd location of City Market. Compared to the downtown one it has a larger parking lot, larger sitting area to eat/drink/hang out, slightly different and smaller selection of products, and a small natural playground outside.

There are a few products I always or usually only find here and not at the downtown location. For example for prepared foods they don’t have turkey chili here, but they do have pesto tofu. Also at some point I had found dried coconut flakes in the prepackaged bulk area here, but not at the downtown store. There are some dry grocery goods on the shelves that have a smaller selection here too, but I don’t remember which things right now.

Overall, lots of GF, DF, allergy-friendly, local and non-local produce and groceries here. Also they have pre packaged prepared foods that seem to be celiac friendly. It’s been awhile since I asked them questions about their cross contamination precautions, so it could be worth it to ask to make sure.

They also have a hot/cold bar open certain hours, but that’s always a gamble in my book. Sometimes I’ll get a bowl of the soup if both soups are GF because that seems safer.

They also offer custom made sandwiches and GF bread is an option, but not good cross-contamination-wise. Also sometimes the custom made sandwiches and/or hot/cold bar have been closed due to staff shortage.
