Ordered a beyond meat burger. Clearly an udi’s bun which is always reassuring. Unfortunately they didn’t toast or warm it, so we all know how disappointing and crumbly that was...especially when you know that even just 30 seconds in the microwave would have salvaged the meal. And they also didn’t cook the beyond meat patty thoroughly, so it was still pinkish and pretty unappetizing when it was served to me. Nice that they had lots of GF options, execution needs some work. I honestly should have sent it back.
Plus side they had packaged condiments so no need to worry about cross contamination of you don’t get them to add anything to your bun. All shared kitchen space as well, so definitely more gluten friendly than free.
Ate here after a long tiring flight. The lady who took our order seemed Knowledgeable at first as she said “everything we have is gluten-free”. As I begin asking questions there were very little gluten-free items and cross-contamination is a big issue. No separate grill or pan for burgers, no dedicated fryer, etc. I don’t think she understood GF and she was not polite either. I had a hamburger on a gluten-free bun and got sick from cross-contamination. I would recommend finding some place else to eat if you have celiac!
No
HORRIBLE they don’t understand gluten free, the chef was pissed I tried to get a sandwich off their “gluten free” menu and that i didn’t want him to use the same knife or put it on the cutting board. The turkey was mealy and the potatoes were soup.

Nice casual atmosphere - has a family owned feel. I had breakfast here - the eggs were decent. The gluten free toast was a hamburger bun toasted and they charged $3.00 for it. Also there was an up charge for fruit instead of breakfast potatoes. Lastly, she charged me for their highest price omelette when I only had one item in it (they had a lower price for a one item omelette). So I didn’t feel great about the value, but for Hawaii prices $32 for two people for breakfast was certainly reasonable (we had water to drink so no beverages). Overall, I felt safe eating here as they were knowledgeable about gluten on their menu and I liked the atmosphere.
Excellent egg sandwich on GF bun, and really interesting menu, nice staff, tried to help find stuff for us.
Yes
Celiacs, don’t waste your time here. Fully cross contaminated.
GF menu, knowledgeable employees, excellent food!! A gem for a quick bite!!
Food was tasty. Like a greasy spoon dinner. Friendly staff. GF shoyu on the table! Never seen that at ANY restaurant ever!
I was really excited about this place until I actually tried the food. The French toast was made out of hard GF hamburger bun and the papaya wasn’t fresh. I wouldn’t come back here.
Round 1: CJ's Deli is a great surprise!! I split the burger and ribs with my boyfriend and both were fabulous!! The ribs had a great smoked flavor and the BBQ sauce was awesome. I can't wait to go back!! Dedicated GF menu and staff was very knowledgeable about GF. Round 2 2018: and this place was delicious! Had the fish tacos. Great price.
Amazing GF Eggs Benedict! Have been here both times I've been to Maui and will keep coming back!
They have gluten free options but everything is done on the same grill. Overall, good lunch place. I wouldn’t go for dinner though. Quick restaurant to grab a sandwich and chips.
They have a pretty expansive and defined gf menu, but not any practices to protect celiacs. I didn’t feel super safe here after asking questions, so probably fine for gf sensitive but not allergies. The sandwiches are made on the same panini grill as the regular . That being said , the clerk suggested I get the cabbage and kalua Pork plate with rice and I did fine.
Has a Celiac, I was not comfortable eating here with all of the cross contamination. But I am grateful they have to GF options for others.
No
This place was great! You order at the counter either to go or eat in. They have a totally separate gluten free menu. I had The American which is 2 eggs, bacon or ham and 3 pieces of French toast. The reason I gave this place 4 stars is because they don't have a designated gluten free cooking space in their kitchen. I am Celiac and decided to just try it and I was never sick but still with no designated gluten free cooking space you do run a risk of being sick.
Pork sandwich with gf bun was fabulous! They have gf menu with lots of choices!
Yes
gluten-free options, but small kitchen preparation area and huge chance of cross-contamination. When I discussed with staff she suggested I not to eat here. Celiacs better avoid
No
Cross contamination is rampant even with separate cutting board because all the food items are taken from the same area that normal sandwich / non gf items are made. Staff was extremely rude and un caring when we said we have celiac. She literally said yeah so what.... DO NOT EAT HERE UNLESS YOUR TRENDY GF
No
Avoid if you have celiac. Trendy gluten free peeps enjoy. Staff not friendly

The food was delicious, don't get me wrong there... But I took a calculated risk by eating here and I was wrong. Mentioned I had celiac and needed everything cleaned and employees' hands washed, but regardless it's the sickest I have ever been in the 13 years since I've been diagnosed.

My wife has Celiac's and they had more options than she could choose from, as well as great food for me as well. It was a win win for the both of us!
For those dumb enough not to ask for them to wash their hands and cutting boards for cross contamination . . . y'all deserve to get glutoned.
Ugh, I got SO sick from gluten here. They make GF sandwiches with the same boards/knifes that they use for gluten, and pretty much the whole place is contaminated. Would definitely not recommend.
No
Bite was good, but one bite was all it took to become extremely ill. Talked to them and oh, yes, they do have cross contamination. Offered me refund and directions to nearest medical clinic or to call 911. Did have a big GF menu if its ypur preference and not celiac.

CJs Deli was the perfect lunch spot for our family. So many gfree choices at reasonable prices! The french dip was awesome and the potato salad was so yummy! The staff was knowledgeable and helpful.
After a long flight we used our GF finder and had the BEST Patty melt. Prices were good the GF bread was out if this world good. Wish I vould pack thes restaurant and send them home with us.
Yes
An extensive GF menu. So many options to choose from. The prices are extremely reasonable and the food was good. My reason for a lower rating...the girl at the register was slightly rude and not very detail oriented. Got my food and thankfully asked to make sure it was a GF bun...she forgot! Good thing I double checked. Other than her, it was a good experience.

Great gluten free and vegetarian menus. So many options and great prices. A very nice place for any meal of the day!
Wonderful little "hidden gem". After a long day of sitting at beach we just wanted something light. Perfect choice. Separate GF menu and staff very allergy conscientious.
Yes
Excellent GF menu. I had the chicken burger (really just grilled chicken) which comes with house-made hummus and sprouts on a GF bun (which I recognized as Udi's). Also had the pineapple coleslaw, which I determined to be dairy free as well as GF. Overall good review for their offerings but I did observe potential cross contamination: cook used shared tongs when toasting my bun and regular buns. OK for me, but I can't say it would be Celiac friendly.
No
Huge selection for breakfast, lunch, dinner and even dessert! Separate GF menu and staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. I appreciate the care they took in preparing my celiac son's meal. We'll be back!
Yes
Huge disappointment. I called ahead to see if they'd be able to accommodate my dietary restrictions (gluten, dairy, egg, vinegar). The woman on the phone said it wouldn't be a problem and all I needed to do was come in and talk to my server and they'd be able to accommodate me. When I went in and spoke to the cashier who took my order, she proclaimed that she doesn't know how I'm able to eat anything and in a huff asked the cook to come over to discuss what they could serve me. The cook was much nicer and said that they could make some steamed vegetables, pan-fried fish and plain white rice. They don't have any dedicated gf areas, so there is always risk for cross-contamination since they use the same pots and pans. Do not go here if you are Celiac or highly sensitive to gluten.

The food was fantastic and the GF menu was huge! Plus, the price was great! The staff were also very knowledgeable! I was so pleased!

Best GF (and vegetarian) meal of our Hawaii trip. Huge selection of GF options and knowledgeable staff. Large menu for the entire family. Everything from meatloaf to life burgers. Definitely a must if you want GF.
Tons of options like hot and cold sandwiches, good size gf kids menu, and many side options. Excellent bread!
best gf choice in lahaina, there's nothing like this back home
Great option in Kaanapali
