Coal Kitchen Restaurant & Cocktail Bar

It was just ok. After high hopes looking at reviews and website we headed to Coal. If you ask for gluten free menu they do give you a regular menu marked on with biro as to what to have/not to have. Asked about dairy free but no menu information forthcoming. Staff looked overworked. Then the marvellous young woman who was taking orders was able to talk us through what we could have gluten free and or dairy free and was both reassuring and knowledgable. We went for the gluten free burger being reassured as to gf bun and gf fries. Food was - ok. Don't rush to be fed there, but better than surrounding chain restaurants offering no gf assurance.

Great selection on a separate gluten free menu. Had one of the burgers with chips. Can't wait to go back!
