We had great things about this place and were told the owner has a kid who is celiac. With that being the case, we were surprised there weren’t more GF options. We went at lunch so maybe there are at dinner. They do have a dedicated fryer and GF bread. The food that we got was safe and tasty though.

I was unsure about a restaurant attached to a gas station but it was delicious! No indoor seating currently but you can eat at the outdoor seating. Mahi bites were a favorite.

Went for dinner and lunch. Amazing food. Had crab cake dinner, wings, and potato skins all so good. Our waitress was knowledgeable. The next day we went for lunch. Most sandwiches can be made gluten free and their rolls are great. We had a turkey and bri sandwich and a tomato basil pesto both great. Only a thing was our second waitress seemed less knowledgeable about gf items said potato salad might have gluten but didn’t offer to check. Still great good though. And fries are pretty good. In dedicated fryer could be crispier but at least they are GF!

Staff very knowledgeable. I have eaten here several times and have never been sick.

I absolutely love the crab cake balls! We go there at least twice every time we are in town. And, yes, I always get the crab cake balls... the other items are also delicious.

We have been eating here several times each week of our yearly stay in Duck. Last night I got the Mahi bites which were so good, I will have them several more times while I am here. It’s the only time all year that I eat fried seafood.

There is supposedly a dedicated fryer but that didn’t stop me from becoming very sick afterward. Something went wrong.

Greasy, mediocre food

Ate here twice during our visit to the Outer Banks July 2019. We chose this place based on the reviews. The first time we went during the lunch hours. Very limited seating inside, but no wait. Great food! Husband ordered crab cakes and a burger. The second time we ate here during the dinner hours. Our wait was about an hour and ate outside. Still a great meal for my GF husband that is hesitant to try new places.

The gf fried calamari was amazing!! So were the mini gf crab cakes! The waitress wasn’t the best. She served us, but left a lot to be desired in regards to being friendly. The buffalo wings were gf but not crispy. I wanted potato skins which were gf but it was on the dinner menu and it was still lunch time so they wouldn’t serve them. Overall a delicious meal.

It was okay. Everything was prepared safely which gives it a solid high star rating (plus there are fries in a separate fryer, which the kids always love). Out of the 4 gluten free dishes ordered to our table I was the only one that really liked mine (steak and crab cake). The crab cake itself does get 5 stars though, like many of the reviewers mentioned, it’s really yummy! (Also, check out the little tap room back behind the restaurant - cute spot with hammocks, live music and some Tito’s! I believe you can order from Coastal Cravings full menu out there as well).

This place was just ok. They told us they did NOT have a dedicated fryer so my daughter didn't get fries with her burger. The second time they put her sandwich on top of a basket of fries (it was wrapped in wax paper, thankfully). The food was so-so, those that had the gf crabcakes said they were great, the other food was "eh". I don't eat gluten free and ordered the chicken wrap (chicken was dry) and the burger (the meat tasted old and it was served on a lame potato bun from the grocery store) on two separate occasions.

Great food, gluten free safe and MANY options like wings and potato skins!! I had the crab legs and they were good, however, we had a horrible waitress who disrespected me and my party. I asked about the dipping butter if it were gf and she rudely said “it’s butter” but anyone who has celiac and is as severely allergic as me should know butter is not just butter. From then on she was snarky and seemed unpleased to serve us. Food was still awesome though so just hope you don’t get our waitress!!

Wonderful! Not $$$. Lunch for 2 for $22 is not three dollar signs in my opinion. Chef and his daughter are celiac, as am I. Dedicated prep area and food ingredients are tested in house for gluten content! I had an incredible Italian sub like sandwich on a fabulous gf roll. Had a really hard time not ordering gf crab cakes!! We will be back!!!

Insanely knowledgable staff, insanely accommodating, and insanely safe to eat at! They have separate cooking space, cutting boards, fryer, you name it. They even have a Nema tester that they use too. They go above and beyond to make sure they’re offering safe food for celiacs. Tons of options and so delicious. I would give this place 100 stars if I could. It was my moms first time eating out in 4 years and she felt wonderful-no issues whatsoever. Yay!

Great staff & good food. The menu lists GF items, but please be careful: the sausage (breakfast & other) is not GF, & I'm not sure what else is listed as GF but really isn't. The chef checked & said the different sausages have wheat in them (they're locally/NC made specially for the restaurant). The "OBX Steamer Pot" has sausage in it (& says GF on the menu). They were really good to me & offered to make mine in fresh water instead of the shared water they use to make all their other steamer pots. This way I didn't have to worry about any contamination from the sausage. We will be back, but be sure to ask lots of questions before you trust the menu.

The waitress told us the chef has a family member with severe celiac, and so everything is dedicated for those needing gf. I had the crab cake sandwich and fries without the bun (gf buns were available for an extra fee). It was the best crab cake I've ever eaten! The place is quaint, with indoor/ outdoor seating available.
