Superb. The service was top notch. We got there before it opened (I was desperate for tasty gluten free food)...they saw me starring in the window, opened up just for me...I bought six freshly baked cinnamon rolls. Heaven. They were so kind and the food was delicious. Can't wait to be back in Seattle.
This place was very hard to find. Phone number was disconnected so couldn't get directions. Finally found it after 90 minutes of wandering. All they had at 3pm on sunday was pie. So we had key lime pie and salted caramel apple pie for lunch. Key lime was the best. Also tried a day old loaf of bread, which wasn't stale but left a horrible after taste. Figure out where it is before you go and don't expect much in the afternoon.
Good cookies, really slow service. Nothing is labeled, not what it is or what it cost. I heard they have great cinnamon buns but they are popular so they run out early. Guess it's crazy talk to bake more? The salted caramel apple thing was just so so. It's 100% GF so they have that going. I would try other options before going back though.
I came at lunchtime, and found this tiny place shorthanded. But the cook was pleasant and described two choices for sandwiches. My husband and I had the two, which were tasty, along with a small salad and fresh fruit. Bread was a bit dry, I think because it was a bit thick. But it was nice to eat gf. These two items were $24 together, but we are at Pike Place Market.
Claims they are open until 6, I went at 5 on a Wednesday and although the signs all said open, the door was locked and no one was there. Very disappointed.
Beautiful savory breakfast items and sweet pies. Truly surprising how good.
Have had a few cookies and muffins from here. No issues with cross contamination.
whoa. this is ridiculously good. I explore GF eats wherever I go and this is as good as Mariposa in California. buttery puff pastries with savory filings are a must.
By far the best gluten free pastries I've ever had. The service was great. I can't get over how fantastic everything was. Will definitely be stopping in whenever we're on this side of the state.
I've been to many gluten free bakeries-- Austin, Los Angeles, and of course, Seattle. This is hands down the most expensive and...also the best I've ever had.
Update: are you kidding me! I have never ever had GF food this good. I mean it, if you are eating gluten free you MUST go to this location. Cream cheese salmon pastry, salted Carmel Apple tart, shrimp poboy and coconut cream pie were perfection. Past post: Hot diggity! French dip sandwiches! Truly the best I've ever had GF or not. Had a cinnamon roll appetizer and eclair for dessert. Don't know where next meal will be but this'll tide me over for a while. Located on the bottom level of Pike place market.
Their cinnamon roll was great. there were lots of options while I was there; enjoyed everything I ordered.
Not very good. Cash only. Limited selection. Charged $1 for a cup of water. Really the only good thing about this place is that I didn't get sick. I'd skip it.
if they had espresso and juice, they'd get a 5 star
Wonderful food every time I visit! Cinnamon rolls are awesome.
Absolutely the best GF pastries and lunch ever!!!! Loved it and will go back again before we leave Seattle. Would definatly buy online to be shipped. Hint hint!!!! Yummy!!
Fantastic dedicated gluten free bakery. We ordered one (or two) of everything they had. Really great service and delicious food. This place was hard to find, but totally worth it!
The selection was a little limited in the late afternoon but we still had a cinnamon roll, an almond cookie and strawberry shortcake. It was all fabulous!
11 years and this is THE best GF food I've ever tasted. Hands down. The cinnamon roll was to die for and the palmier was unbelievable! Thank you for taking the time to figure out how to do GF the right way!!!
Yumm!!! Gf eclairs that are phenomenal! Totally gluten free and the nicest owners ever!!!
AMAZING!!! Cinnamon rolls eclairs croissants and delicious coffee!
My girl friend has Celiacs and being someone who hasn't ever had to eat gluten free, some things have taken some getting used to. Baked goods have definitely been hard to find, but Coffee and A Specialty Bakery hits everything right on the money. The taste and texture of their gluten free products is as good if not better than standard issued baked goods. Their latte's are immaculate as well. I highly recommend this bakery/café for gluten free and non-sensitive patrons alike. Five stars is not enough.
The owner is super sweet, just like her baked goods!! Being from out of town she was really helpful in recommending some delicious choices! The lattes and butter croissants, cinnamon rolls, and eclairs - OM NOM NOM! Definitely come to this place - definitely order a lot.
French dip today was excellent and we got to try fresh hot very light pound cake. Mmm mmm.
Incredible. Sticky bun was amazing. Husband said coffee was some of the best.
Fantastic folks, fantastic food.. I'm mean REAL CINNAMON ROLLS!! Woot woot!
Best gluten free cinnamon rolls ever. Can't wait to till my next visit to Seattle and Coffee & A Specialty Bakery.
100% gluten free bakery operated by some very nice folks. Highly recommended.
Phenomenal!! Be sure to check out their daily lunch specials. The French dip and meatball sandwich is the best in town!
Cute little shop with very friendly employees. I was shocked that they had such a variety of delicious looking food that was all gluten free. I had a cinnamon roll, the first gluten tee one I've had, and I was delish. Definitely will be going back!
I had a salmon slider and it was delicious. I still can't believe the bun was gluten free, that is how good it was. The chocolate chip cookies are very good also.
Wonderful little shop with friendly staff. Had a veggie focaccia, delicious bbq pork sliders on a light and fluffy roll, with a side of awesome potato salad. Decided to hang out while a fresh batch of cinnamon rolls was baking... even though we'd already enjoyed a brownie and orange cranberry scone. Definitely recommend this place!
While on vacation we stopped by. My mom had quiche and I had a poorboy sandwich. Worth the visit!
Wonderful place!!! I have bought bread, rolls, cinnamon rolls, a quiche, and a shrimp po-boy in my three visits here. All were very very good. If you are at the market, check it out.
A great GF bakery! We had the cinnamon rolls, a Madeline and a cookie. The owner and staff were very friendly :)
by far the best GF bakery I have been to like other reviewers have said. cinnamon rolls are amazing so are their cookies, fritatta, quiche... the list goes on!
Best GF bakery I have ever found in the 5 years since my diagnosis. We only live two hours away, and we go out of our way to come here!
This is the best gluten free bakery I have ever been to. Eveything here is totally gluten free, so no contamination! I had the madelines, the roast beef sandwich for lunch (first sandwich in a year and quite delicious), and they had hot fresh cinnamon buns just out of the oven while I was there so I had to get one! It was, hands down, the best cinnamon bun I have ever had (and I've only been gf for a year, so I remember wheat cinnamon buns =P). The staff is also super friendly, I had a great chat with the man at the counter. I will definitely be going back. It is a shame that this bakery has a 4.5 instead of 5 star rating because of someone rating it down because of the presence of egg in their baking (not really fair on this website since it's about finding gluten free food, NOT egg free). It definitely deserves the 5 stars.
At this point, their products contain EGG. I hope they change that soon!
This place is fantastic!!! We want to take them back to Florida with us!! We had a shrimp & mango salad & split an egg salad on a gf brioche also bought 1 of every gf cookie they had!!! I will be back before I leave & plan on stocking up before I leave!
Great service first of all, we were greeted right away when we walked in and offered a sample of their Madeline's which was awesome! We ended buying 2 & ate them on the spot. We got a chocolate chip cookie too. OMG, the best I've had in Seattle, hands down. We also had their focaccia pizza, it was flavorful & delicious (very generous slice)! We will definitely be coming back.
We enjoyed gluten-free French dip sandwiches! Excellent sweet treats.
Look, I travel all over the country and desperately look for gluten free facility's to eat and gather food, this place not only "gets it", but they take it to another level! Great food, but even better service and commitment to quality. I was in the very small entry way with 4 other customers just talking about being Gluten Free and enjoying the time with each other. Extremely friendly and wonderful food. If your going to pick from this list...go here!
Great service and great food! My husband and I shared an amazing cinnamon roll and a delicious bacon/cheddar/chive scone, and we both ordered cappucinos; loved that we could get them with non-dairy milks! (He had hemp, I had almond.) We also tried the madeleines, which were wonderful. We bought fresh mini-loaves of bread to eat with lunch later, and they were absolutely fantastic. It's very much a hidden jewel, and well worth the trip. My husband and I chatted with the owners while we dined and they said they're currently in the process of adding more vegan options. If you're in Seattle, especially I you're visiting Pike Place, this place is a must!
Utterly amazing! It's a crowded little shop, but the owners are very welcoming and the food is fabulous...and eveything is gluten-free! I had shrimp focaccia, which was out of this world delicious, and a tasty little salted caramel and apple tart. My husband, who is not GF and is decidedly ambivalent on GF food, was VERY impressed with everything he tried, and even bought a seeded baguette and a cheddar biscuit of his own volition. Highly recommended!
WOW! This place was amazing. The elephant ears were better than the ones at the Puyallup Fair. I couldn't believe they were gluten free. The staff and owner were very pleasant and hospitable. They have fabulous gluten free options. I will definitely tell my friends.
The owners were so nice and the products are awesome! They let me sample one of their mandolins and you could barely tell they were gluten free! I bought some baguettes and a cinnamon roll that are great as well. My friends that I drug with me tried some of the samples they gave me and they all agreed that they were delicious and wouldn't have known they were gluten free.
Only a couple of sandwich options, but absolutely delicious. We also bought baguettes for sausages from Pike Place, a cinnamon roll, and a cookie. Everything was amazing.
