I had a wonderful time at Comfort Kitchen! So much of the menu can be prepared gluten free, so I was really excited for my visit. Dinner is reservation only so I made one via open table. I noted that I did have a gluten allergy, even though I don’t usually expect restaurants to review this. Wow, was I impressed! When we were seated at the bar all of the staff we spoke to had been briefed on my allergy—I didn’t even have a chance to bring it up before I was asked whether I could handle cross-contamination. I was so impressed that they had all been briefed before we were seated to ensure my safety. We had really lovely conversations with the folks running the bar, who were generous with their time despite running a busy kitchen at the end of the night, and they were super adamant about respecting food allergies—something that is still rare in my experience. Of course, we went for the food!! Which was excellent. Perfectly cooked duck and chicken, amazing kofta for a starter, and both deserts are gluten free (leaving off cookies from the ice cream). Everything was delicious, and I can’t wait to go back!!
