OUR STORY
Continental Treat Fine Bistro is a modern European restaurant. A family affair, where three generations of the Borówka family work together to bring their turn of the century dining vision to life. The family takes pride in serving delicious food with memorable service in a romantic atmosphere. Dedicated to serving their clientele since 1982, the founders Ryszard and Helena Borówka work with their son Sylvester and Grandsons Michael and Matthew to oversee the entire operation. Sylvester adheres to his family’s legacy with decades of experience in the hospitality and service industry. He is an accomplished restauranteur and has developed many of the popular gluten free dishes and baked goods Continental sells. As a health-conscious gourmet, Sylvester chose to embrace gluten-free cooking both to promote healthier eating as well as to provide wonderful European dishes to clients who have celiac, gluten-intolerance or a gluten-free preference. The goal being to make food that is indistinguishable or superior to traditional gluten-containing products.
Over the decades Continental Treat Fine Bistro has become the premier choice for anniversaries, birthdays, romantic dinners, wedding receptions and business dinners. Our Executive Chefs, Elizabeth Palmowska and Carlos Ochoa, and their teams are constantly working to innovate the menu, while keeping the distinctive, traditional flavour of our most popular European dishes. To enjoy with your meal, we have an extensive stock of sumptuous wines, fine European beers, rare spirits and even small batch, nearly impossible to find Trappist ales.
The ambiance is warm European bistro charm with classical Jazz in the background. The menu reflects a central and eastern European influence with the tastes of Poland, Germany, Hungary and Austria all amazingly and deliciously Gluten-Free.

This was our first time here. We ordered the Reuban sandwich combo (comes with cup of soup) and the ceasar salad to share between the two of us. We had the dill pickle soup and it was probably our favourite part of the meal. The Reuban sandwich had a very strong cloves flavour which was a bit off-putting. The sandwich came with a side of beets and potato salad, both of which were delicious. The ceasar salad was alright, though the anchovies were quite overpowering. I would eat here again but would probably try something else instead to see if it was better. We also hoped to get the strawberry and Nutella perogies for dessert but they ran out, hopefully next time we get to try them!

Wow what a gem this place is! We had the dill pickle soup, pork schnitzel with pan fried potatoes, Cesar salad & pirogies (traditional cheddar & beef brisket). Everything was absolutely delicious! We shared the tiramisu for dessert…light & fluffy cake & a huge portion. How great to go to a fully gluten free restaurant where you can choose whatever you want for dinner and it’s all super yummy! We need this restaurant in Vancouver!

Fabulous dinner experience at the Jasper Ave location, so good we’re going to try Whyte Ave one soon! Traditional European cuisine perfectly done. Everything is GF & most dishes are nut free. I felt 100% confident eating anything on the menu, which made for a very relaxing evening! No quizzing the server, no fretting about cross contamination! The service was excellent- friendly & informative. They were busy but our meal came quickly and we didn’t feel rushed. The chicken & pork schnitzels were tender with a crispy, light breading. Delicious sauces & potatoes. Generous servings too!

Amazing experience at Continental Treat. European style food in a fully gluten free establishment. We stopped by for lunch and had the soup and sandwich combo. Relaxed atmosphere would be great for date night.
